Microsoft may be gearing up for something big. With Windows Mobile 6.1 due out any time in Q2 this year, there's a buzz now about a new team MS is forming to create what they've been touting for years - 'Connected Entertainment.' This team is to be called the 'eLive' Team which some speculate means 'Entertainment & Live.' So what does it take to be on this team? Well, believe it or not, there's a job posting for the team! - details after the break...
Are you passionate about delivering on the vision of "Connected
Entertainment"? Do you dream about having a mobile phone based
entertainment experience powered by a unified entertainment service
across devices such as Zune, Xbox and PC? If yes, come join ELive
Mobile team!
The Elive team is embarking on the mission to create a "Connected
Entertainment" experience, realized through ELive service, that spans
multiple devices such as Zune, Xbox, PC and Mobile phones. To complete
this vision, we must ensure that the ELive "Connected Entertainment"
experience is available on mobile handsets - the most ubiquitous, most
personal and most used devices in the world. We are a rapidly growing,
V1 product team with great opportunities for motivated individuals! We are looking for an exceptional Senior SDE [Software Development
Engineer] to lead the design and delivery of mobile entertainment
experience for ELive. You will drive technical product design across a
wide set of feature areas and create detailed design specifications.
You'll write cross platform, robust, reliable, secure, and high
performance code on mobile platform across one or more feature areas
like audio/video rendering, downloading/streaming content, web service
integration, user experience, etc. You'll also work closely with
design, PM and test teams to drive execution of these features." - Job Code 224341 This goes on to solidify rumors (here, here, and here) of Windows Mobile getting Zune! Maybe 2009? Let's cross our fingers cause holding our breath would suck... [via SeattlePI]
