Have you ever wanted to listen to your Zune at school without getting caught? I have too, and so have two of our own zB members, Trogdor and Saline. They've taken this idea a whole new level of...well a whole new level...by actually doing it! While it's still left to be seen whether this will truly work (do this at your own risk of confiscation of Zune and/or ridicule), you've got to give them credit for actually getting it done complete with pictures! More after the break...
Things You will need -A hardcover book
-A zune
-A knife or an exacto (This means attempt at your own risk)
-Some thing that can be used as a brush (or a brush)
-Junk Pile to stack on book
-A mix of elmers glue and water (make sure it is liquidy but not too runny)
-A plastic bag (ziploc works well) that can be put in the book to seperate the pages
Process 1- Take the book and find the page that you want to start carving on and put in the plastic divider(bag). Set the book so that you can coat the outside of the pages that will be carved into. Now glue those pages.
Note- Pay close attention to the corners. We applied about three coats and it worked well. Also glue the back cover to the pages it makes things way easier and more solid.
2- Set the junk pile on top of the book so it wont warp while it dries.
Note- We let it dry for a few hours
3- After the glue dries on the outside open the book and trace your zune and desired headphones on the paper then carve into the book enough until your zune will fit.
Note- Rounded corners are a NO, rectangular will save you time trust us.
The area we carved for the headphones only is carved in about 20 pages.
4- Now glue the inside everywhere and your outside may of frayed a little like ours so give another coat. Then set your junkpile on top and wait for it to dry.
5-You are done enjoy your case.
We got our idea from the Make Magazine Podcast you can find in Zune Marketplace.
Thanks Trogdor and Saline!
