With the holiday season coming closer and closer, Toshiba and Creative finally announced their newest PMP's.
First, Toshiba has annonced their Gigabeat T401, which is only a 9.9mm-thin music player with a 2.4-inch screen. They claim to have improved the player's sound with the "H2C" tech, giving you better sound quality. Apparently, it has WiFi connectivity, but we are uncertain of what exactly you can do with it. The 4GB version will be out in Japan on September 7th for $214.
Creative also announced their latest PMP, simply called "The Zen." From the looks of it now, this is currently THE player to get this Holiday Season. (Hopefully, Microsoft can offer something better) The Zen has a 2.5" screen, flash memory, and similar controls to the ZVW. There will be 4GB ($150), 8GB ($200), and 16GB ($300) versions coming out. 16GB of flash memory, WOW! Some audio formats supported are MP3, WMA (and WMA-DRM), AAC (supports iTunes Plus tracks) and Audible. Some video formats supported are WMV, Divx, Xvid, MJPEG, and TIVO to Go. This sexy little player is also equipped with a FM tuner and voice recorder. The battery life is decent as well, with 25 hours of audio and 5 hours of video.
Ok, so that's the latest from Toshiba and Creative. Now, I impatiently await the announcements from Microsoft, Apple, and Sony.
