Grahm Skee of anythingbutipod.com found something very interesting when he sync'd his Sandisk Sansa View....Read on....

I did this on an updated Vista computers using the Zune software and Windows Media Player 11. What happened was I connected a bunch of MP3 players to charge them and by accident my Sansa View started synching the library automatically though WMP. WMP saw my Zune subscription folder and authorized the Sansa View to download the tracks as the second device. I would also imagine that you could not use a Zune at all, use the Zune Marketplace Subscription to download tracks and sync them to two PlaysForSure MTP based players.

Can anyone verify this?  This sounds very cool!

I have a MarketPlace subscription and I can sync albums and songs to my Windows Mobile 5.0 cell phone. It only works when I connect the phone via USB cable (no bluetooth sync) and have ActiveSync enabled. In Windows Media Player 11.

Connect the phone via USB and wait until it syncs. Then open Windows Media Player 11. Click on Sync. You may have to page through the sync devices until you find the storage card on the phone. Then drag albums (I get them from my file system folders) onto the Sync window, and then click "Start Sync". It takes a while, but it works.

This has been around since last year, though I wish it had worked in the reverse. Thankfully, along came Viodentia [smiley=evil]

Just like most things last generation, the Marketplace DRM was called PFS 9.1, whereas other PFS was just plain 9. This meant that the Zune files were compatible with WMP11 and PFS still. Oddly, when the re-wrote the software for v2, they didn't update the DRM, meaning that all older DRM tools still worked with Marketplace. I assume they did this to ease the transition and not force people to re-download licenses or entire files.

And slim: It's definitely a good thong

Isn't that illegal? Download a bunch of songs but MS has no way to delete it. LOL

Just tried it out on my Sony S615. Yes it does work.

After you sync them to your non-Zune device, it periodically checks the date and calls for a sync after a while, maybe a month or so. Then you have to sync them again. There is no way to authenticate on the Windows Mobile 5.0 phone.
