Buy.com has Philips USA SHN2500 Active Noise Canceling Earbuds for only $6.99 after Google Checkout. Another great deal from Buy.com. Very good deal so pick it up as fast as you can, it will be sold out soon.  These are in-ear earbuds that are great alone, but with the active noise canceling it makes it even better.  Plus it's only $7 which has to be the cheapest earphones you can find.

Eliminate the annoyances of the outside world and experience your music at a whole new level with the Philips SHN2500 Active Noise Canceling Earphone set. Works with or without a signal to give you the peace you deserve.

5 of 5 Comfortable and they work! Saturday, May 19, 2007

I've tried several kinds of noise cancelling headphones, and these work very well. Not perfect, but for the money they work very well. The sound is impressive, and you can even feel the "thump" of the bass, when you turn them up. They have soft earpieces, like the expensive Sonys, and mine came with three earpiece sizes. The only down side is the lack of a seperate volume control. Also, there was no LED to remind you the power was on, but they last a long time on one AAA battery. The best noise cancelling headphones are the over-the-ear kind, but these in-the-ear type work very well. For the money, you can't beat these earphones.

5 of 5 These were great! Monday, December 17, 2007

I was a bit nervous ordering these due to all the bad reviews I was reading on these but when I got them I liked them...a lot! I agree with most that the thing that holds the battery is pretty bulky but it didn't bother me much...many say the battery holder thing weighs down and rips the wire from the earbud...I believe this is done due to not using the product correctly. These headphones come with a neck strap that when used correctly makes the weight of the battery non existant...sound is great, and I trully can not hear a thing outside of what Im listening to.

So how come you only give the reviews that give it 5 stars rather than voice the true opinions of the buyers?

These earbuds are terrible; I feel ignorant and stupid just knowing I bought them once.

I have had this headset for 6 months now and find them to be aggrevating more than a joy to listen with. Chief complaints: (1) Earbuds constantly fall out of you ears and have to be pushed in all the time. (2) Poor bass range

- 1 of 5 Bad sound no noise canceling
A Customer from Phoenix, AZ
I bought these a while back and the noise canceling is more of an amplifier than a anything else. It does not remove any white noise when on an airplane. Additionally they sound terrible compared to pretty much any other headphones that I have used.

These earbuds are reasonably well made, but the active noise isolation seems to consist of a constant hiss in the background when you turn them on. With the switch on they amplify the source you're listening to. I think this amplification is the whole rea...

son for the battery and control box, and that the only way they can advertise them as "Active Noise Canceling" is that they provide active boost to the source, and semantics allow them to call that "...noise canceling"... They are fairly inexpensive and are comfortable, but the hiss with the power switch on is very noticeable when you're between songs or just wearing them.....

These were taken from the same site from the same page that those 2 5 of 5 were taken from. Only 3 of 9 people gave it a 5 of 5b but only two reviews are shown and the two that are shown give a rating of 5 of 5 when the average of all the ratings is only a 3 of 5. Next time give a broader opinion then the two fanatics that rave about them.
