Well, to be honest, this probably isnt the totally best case to buy for
your new shiny zune. but, its not a bad case. it fits the zune well,
not really "skin tight" but it does the job. The silicone gives your
zune a little more sturdy feel (though the zune itself is pretty sturdy
alone, ive dropped it several times from pretty high up and no damage
done =D)but anyway... back to the point of this review.
The case is pretty well made, deff not the best one, but it serve its
purpose. prevents scratches and helps with impact a little. The arm
band included, well, ill probably never use it, though i tried it just
to see, it works.... and thats about it. And lastly, the screen
protector, well, half of the instructions and such are in chinese or
japanese... so... that gave me a good idea of how this was gonna work.
well, if u dont mind trimming the screen protector and carefully
placing it upon your glass screen, then it works. Also, the case has a
thin, and i do mean THIN piece that lays across the bottons, and the
touchpad. Luckily it does not hinder the control much, a little, but
not enough to rip it off.
So to sum it up, its a decent case for a decent price.

I received the item exactly one week after I ordered it, which I
believe is definitely acceptable as it had to travel from West Coast to
East Coast. It's very easy to fit the Zune 2 into the skin, and it fits
great with all of the openings lining up and easily accessible.
Now to the ever-important touchpad. The silicone that covers the
touchpad is very, very thin. So thin that it's transparent. I was
worried that the functionality of the Zune touchpad would be
significantly diminished by it being covered, but it still works great
after a little practice. Since the silicone has more grip to it and is
not as slick as the bare touchpad, it takes a little bit of getting
used to. Normal browsing is fine, but when you want to browse quickly
you have to use a lighter touch and just kind of lightly brush your
finger/thumb quickly up or down to really zip through your catalog.
Like I said, after a couple minutes of practice you will get the hang
of it. And the other two buttons work flawlessly.
The included screen protector is much too large for the Zune and I
didn't feel like cutting it and shaping it, so I just ignored it. I
really didn't want/need it anyway.
I love the armband attachment. Definitely comes in handy when working out or running. A necessity for me.
Overall, I'm very satisfied with this product. The silicone will gather
lint over time, but just slip if off and wash it down with some warm
water and soap and you're back in business. Since I first handled the
Zune 2, I thought it felt almost too fragile. This skin really gives it
some substance and protection without overly compromising any of its
functionality. Since the touchpad usage is ever-so-slightly affected, I
can't give it a perfect 5 stars, but it still works great. Much better
than I expected it to. I'm going to keep it, but if you really hate the
touchpad covering, it wouldn't be too dificult to cut it out with a
razor blade. Or maybe wipe it with some teflon coating? Anyways, I
would definitely recommend this case to any Zune 2 owner looking for
something besides MS's $50 case. If a silicone skin is for you, I
highly doubt you will be disappointed with this one. And you simply
cannot beat the price! |

This was one of the few cases I found for my new 2nd Gen zune. (Which I
love, BTW). The silicon case fits perfectly. It is a little hassle
cutting the protector to size. I use it to hold my zune while at the
gym -and it works for that. The zune bounces around a fair bit during
exercise. I'm not a jogger - if I was I think I'd dislike this case. I
don't think it's very weather resistant. It does the job o.k. I will
upgrade to a new case when more vendors produce them, 'though. |
