I'm guessing it was a Zune 30. Those things are tanks. Chubby tanks.

mainly.. zune 30s are the tank.. while the zune 4/8/80 are very easy to destroy though.. so zune isn't indestructible...

well... depends on what kind of zune you have. the zune 30GB (first generation) are indestructable but the second generation (zune 4/8/80) not so much.

The Zune 30s are far from indestructable. It mainly depends on how it lands. I dropped and broke mine, but when I called microsoft the rep said that they would replace it as long as I didn't tell him to make note of me dropping it. Kind of like a don't ask, don't tell thing.

If you drop a Zune 30 on cement it will scratch the cement.

In my back yard actually. The problem was, is that I was standing on top of a rock retaining wall, so when it fell it actually hit about 4-5 times on the way down. It actually still powered on and played music, the screen just stopped working. I was impressed that it did anything at all.

Dang, now I'll never be able to use damage as an excuse to upgrade (my friend ran over her 3rd gen iPod with the car on accident, then her parents bought her the newest one)

The most amazing thing I find about the Zunes' toughness is the scratch-resistant glass on the 4, 8, and 80. I've had my Zune in my pocket with all kinds of objects that could've scratched up the screen of an iPod, but my Zune's screen hasn't gotten a single scratch on it. Also, my friend hid my Zune in the tiled ceiling in our school and there was a bunch of cement from the bottom of the other floor up there. My Zune fell on the tile floor when I accidentally bumped it, and a piece of cement slammed down on top of it. Not a single scratch... anywhere.

i agree. i've dropped my zune 30 probably hundreds of times on hard ground and there isnt even a scratch on it! my friend's zune 80 had to be fixed by microsoft a couple of times now, and he's owned it for a shorter time than me

Zune 30= Panzer Granted, I have nothing against the 80GB zune, but if we built a zune with 120GB hard drive, zune 30 chassis, zune 80 screen, (somehow fudge a zune squircle control mechanism into the body and connect it to a zune 30GB motherboard)... ultimate zune!!!
