I had a started with the 4 gig ipod mini, hated it so much, it was even in black and white! moved to the sony mp3's. Liked them quite alot, but just never got stuck into 'em. Then went back to apple for the new nano.. (yes I know, I followed the hype!) screen got smashed and wasn't covered in my warranty! so i got a pin and broke the earphone jack and took it back and got my money :P i then searched google for an "ipod killer" and found THE ZUNE! loved it loads, plus it was an ipod killer :P bought a 30gig pink zune and then ripped the fxck outa my friends coz my mp3 is better then theres!

I used to have a 2nd Gen iPod nano, but I didn't like it at all. The 'click wheel' was inaccurate. It was hard to land on what you wanted. It also got tired when scrolling through long lists. I also didn't like iTunes. Even though the new Zune Software isn't very good, I still like it better than iTunes. At the beginning of this last summer I sold my iPod and bought a Zune. I had been looking into them the prievious month and my cousin also had one, he told me what he liked about it and that finalized my decision.

I haven't received mine yet, so I haven't used it, but I preferred Zune over Ipod because of the wireless sync, fm radio and the fact that almost everybody has an Ipod. Plus I hate the click wheel and the fragile screen.

I've never owned an iPod or any kind of media player, but I do have an Axim x50v Pocket PC device which I use every night to read news on the web or play an avi movie file. What really sparked my interest in the Zune, is the ability to download and play audio and video podcasts as well as video files.
So, I wanted to get a Zune 80 to try it out, but I was on the fence about it since I'd have to talk my wife into spending the money for one. Since it was getting close to X-Mas, I used that as an excuse to get one as a gift. My wife was happy that she didn't have to rack her brain trying to come up with a gift for me, and I'm happy because I get a Zune to use! |

I'd used the 2 gig Ipod for a while, and was looking to upgrade to a bigger model when i heard of the Zune, and started looking into it.
After reading about it's abilities, and what they aimed to do with it i decided i wanted to try the Zune out, so i went and bought the 30 gig right when it came out and never looked back, it's been a great MP3 player with the only downside being that the battery life is low, and i do like that it's "Microsoft Compatible" because the stupid Ipod software never got along with my Microsoft based computers.

Since before the zune even came into being, i always thought that microsoft was capable of making an mp3 player to rival that of apples, so when the Zune did come into being, I was interested. I loved my mini, even tho in the end the battery crapped out on me, and i loved my ipod video, but was incredibly frustrated by the fact that it was so scratchable and by the end of it was sick of having to always have it in a case. Then, probably two weeks before the zune 2 was released, on a whim it decided to wipe my whole collection off (including a lot of converted video no longer on my computer), then completely died for a day or so. A blessing in disguise really because i was going to blow a whole lot of cash on the itouch. Anyway the rest is history. The zune just had more that i wanted. greater durability, radio, etc etc.

I just got a Zune 4gb and I'm gonna play devil's advocate here and ask someone to tell me why the Zune is so much better than the iPod. The iPod video supports more formats, has a audio equalizer, a clock, and can play games. the Zune has replaced all of these with the new wifi feature and a larger, glass screen, which is cool, but how often do you encounter a situation in which you are within 20 feet of a person with a zune for more than a minute? And if you're thinking that your best friends all have one, don't you see them often enough to trade songs another way so they could listen to them more than three times? I was raised in such a way that I would never dream of purchasing an Apple product (In fact I was given an old imac and threw it off my roof), but why is the Zune so much better if the iPod has more features? Not to mention the PSP, which, for the same price, does way more than the Zune could dream of.

lol, yeah I got mine because of the 80g storage, the looks (wish the 80g came in the red like the 8), sound and screen. I also like the Zune's layout better than Apples. I don't hate Apple, I just didn't want to add to the craze of the "IPOD"....
