I was following the news that Microsoft was ganna release an "Ipod Killer", thought sharing songs would be really cool and I really liked how the screen was really big. Bought it the day it came out, been happy with the product but disappointed with the software.

All of my freinds had iPods, and I had used them, but I always thought they were boring, and I was afraid to scratch them up, and they seemed so fragile. Plus, the immense amount of bright white back grounds, and the small screen game me headaches.
My dad had a zune, and when I asked for an MP3 player for my b-day, he gave me a choice between an iPod, and a zune.

naturally, I chose the zune, because I wanted to stand out, it looked cool, I make videos, and I could watch them on my Zune, and because the songs on the market place are cheaper, and I could add my own songs.

Actually, they are about the same price of a song from iTunes. 80 Microsoft Points is equal to $1(US).. And if you didn't know, You can add your own songs to the iPod as well. Even play them at a higher bit rate then the zune allows.

It was about $10 USD cheaper than the iPod, wider/bigger screen. Microsoft <3

I had an iPod and it Broke so I decided that eventually i would replace it with a new ipod or something but i went with a zune instead because i liked the screen and it seemed like whenever I tried watching videos on it it would die really quick.

I chose the Zune over the iPOD, because most of the people I know have iPODS and are always say how good they are so I had to be different and go with the Zune

Regards,
Romad

I used to have a stupid little ipod shuffle and i got tired of it so i decided to get a better mp3 player. At first i was looking with the ipod video but my friend got one and it got all scratched up in a day and the screen was too small for videos so then i started looking at the zune and i fell in love with it. I like the way it looks (I got a black one), the wifi even if it is pretty restricted, the big screen, and the way its presented. Plus no one at my school has one so it feels nice to have something no one else has

My creative mp3 player broke so I did debate between the Ipod and Zune. For me it was the screen size and potential of the Zune. I have a Xbox360 and hope that there will be alot of functionality between the two.

At first I was going to go with a 5.5g iPod, , mostly because of iPodlinux, but after long hours spent debating it with friends and myself (people thought I was totally crazy, talking to myself!) I went with zune, partially because of the wi-fi and screen size, not to mention it was $50 cheaper for me!

I got my Zune as a birthday gift, but I did prefer it over the ipod because it has a lot of potential with the wifi. I also like the larger screen, Its great for watching videos and movies.

As much as I like the Zune itself, the software has many issues for me. I installed it on my DELL XPS 410 and on my DELL Inspiron e1505 and it has the same issue. It plays music great, but when I want to sync it seems to always stop in the middle of my sycs or not even start. Its rare for the syncing to go without any problems.

Other than that, I love my zune. I just hope they fix the software problems otherwise it could get quite frustrating.

I was really prone to Creative's Zen, in Christmas they were $200, but I couldn't find one, the next best thing was the Zune, and I couldn't get it in the color I wanted anyway >(, but heck the brownie grew up on me, I'm nothing but pleased now, I used to think album art and videos was something useless ^-^

Same here! i also had an iRiver H10! really great player tho....

But once it got old, i wanted something different. I hate Apple too, so..... Zune was my only/last option....

Bought it from amazon!

I'm not really a fan of MS and definitely not a fan of Apple(don't like how they attack MS in their commercials with their lies) but I still used to own an ipod nano. as a matter of fact, I owned three. I have to admit that they were great players, Unfortunately I lost my third one and was tired of gettin the same thing over and over. I realized that a majority of the people already owned an ipod and I just cant stand to flow with the current so I wanted to get something different. I wasnt sure about the zune, so I was gonna go ahead and buy an ipod video until I saw my friend with a zune. I got to use it for a bit and it just felt wonderful in my hand. It was more comfortable to hold than the ipod and the features were great. I also liked the fact that it was more customizable than the ipod. So I eventually saved up enough money to buy a zune (black) and as soon as I got it, I knew more about it than my friend did, Im just that kinda person. As soon as I got it hooked up I immediately started lookin for hacks (like I did for the psp) and I found a good amount. I really dont know why so much people had trouble with the software, I installed mines in under 30min. It took that long due to the update. It seems that alot of people are lookin at the faults that the zune has and ignoring the faults that the ipod has. One of the most important features that I recognized in the zune software was the guest mode and alot of people seem to overlook the fact that itunes doesn't even have a guest mode (I have mistakenly erased my friends ipods because of this). People also complain about getting music and videos on their zune. there are tons of converters on the market to solve this problem and alot are free, Total Video Converter is a really nice one that comes with a conversion mode for the zune. Overall, I am enjoying my zune more than I have ever enjoyed my ipod and look forward to going up to one of my friends who has an ipod and asking them to send me a song.....that would be hilarious, lol

I've put off getting an iPod or a digital player for a long while but finally decided I wanted to get one.

I wanted something name brand and not some flybynight manufacturer I've never heard of.

The Zune's 30 gig hard drive and Microsoft name helped a lot...plus...I really don't like Apple, so it was a pretty easy decision to make.

So far so good!
