I was looking for a new MP3 player to replace my old, 2GB iPod Nano. The scroll wheel was really dirty, and I hated moving my thumnb in a circle to go down or up. It didn't have any video at all, and a very small screen. I was looking at newer iPod models, but was mad that they came out with a new one every year/few months. So, I then saw the Zune. It looked awesome, had a giant harddrive and enormous screen. So, I was saving up for it for a few months and happened to get the 120 GB model for Christmas, even though I only wanted the 80 GB. : )
But now, the Zune HD is coming out! I finally get a good MP3 player, and I'm going to be the only one without a Zune HD. : ( And, it looks amazing!
Well my dad got the first one then my sister got a pink 4 gig and i worked hard in school to get mine and that broke then for christmas i got a 120 GB Zune GOW 2 edition and my mom got an 8 GB so were just one big happy zune using family
i got my zune only because the guy at best buy told me everone had a ipod he had an ipod. then he listed what the zune could do. lol he couldent say the same for ipod. i thought to myself if ipod best selling point is everone has one and easier to use then wow thats kinda ****ty. zune has bigger screen radio. zune has a better selling point in my opion.

I was never attracted to the iPod. Not sure why just it wasnt appealing to me. Too many people have them and I felt like being different.
I was a bit skeptical about purchasing it but after arguing with myself about it, I finally did. I bought the 8gb first and used up the memory quickly. So after that I went back and bought the 120gb I love the size of the screen and how easy it is to use. I never liked the scrollign wheel part of the iPod also. Since I work in packing plant my hands are covered in gloves quite a bit so a touch screen was out of the question. I can say though I am very satisifed with the zune.
I first heard of a Zune when my son was deployed in the Marines and he wanted one for Christmas. I told him no way (justs so he would think I wasn't getting it for him) but I wasn't able to ship it to him because of where he was deployed (on a Navy ship).
He ended up getting one when he went to port, which was a good thing
The letters he wrote to me told me how much he loved his Zune and then last Christmas I bought him a 120GB Zune and his gf a 8GB Zune. They both loved it so much!
Finally on Woot, I saw the 30GB on sale and grabbed one and I'm so glad I did! I LOVE it!
I like that not everyone has a Zune. I love the quality.
I know I'm a little late in the game, but I'm thrilled I'm here now

30 gb iPod->PSP->Zune 16. Had some hiccups at first, I couldn't sync, deleted libUSB, worked beautifully, better than iPod in nearly every way IMO except lack of eq support but it's a trade-off.
Either have the same so-so, overpriced PMP as everyone else with an equalizer or a more feature-packed PMP that sets you apart without an eq.
Well my reasons for chooing zune is for its price and some bad luck i had..
i was using 5th gen. ipod (video edition) after using it for 3 years it got stolen on a bus on my way home.. After that i was trying to get ipod touch.. then i dunno from where but i have heard that microsoft has a mp3 too.. so i checked out but due to the place i live (Turkey) there is no retailer here.. on some kinda forum i posted information that i wanted to buy one.. finally a guy told me that he can send me one.. i pay 280$ for 80GB black one.. yeah its 50$ more but i didnt care because it was kinda the lowest price in here.. and ipod touch costs 380$ here.. so i saved like 100$ and i got 80 gigs place.. now im happy with it.. thanks for the guy who stole my ipod XD
Well i'm anti-apple, and never owned a apple product. Their products seem like fads, and look good but don't function as well as microsofts products(mac os vs. windows). I also didn't want to look like everyone else with their ipods.
I only used the Zune cuz I got it free. Had I paid for it I would have been pissed! I just bought my Ipod classic for a little over 250 bucks and I'm going to hit the zune with a hammer once I get back to work. I feel sorry for anyone that pays for a zune or any other microsoft product. IMHO save up a little extra money and buy a real mp3 player.
I was minutes away from buying an 120gb ipod classic, thought i would try it out only to find the volume is limited in the UK, how ****ing stupid is that??

I am sorry that Microsoft does not spoonfeed you like Apple does. Maybe some day you will learn how to do things on your own and become a real person.
I am very pleased with my Zune. I used to have an iPod Classic, and it was a bit plain and boring, but it worked all right. When it got stolen I got a Zune, and it was a really great choice.

The iPod Classic sound quality is well known to be inferior to the Zune, and many other music players - even the 2G iPod Touch (do a little googling, if you don't believe me). I've never owned an iPod Classic, but I did own a 4G and 5G and the sound quality between them and the Zune is like night and day.
Since we know that the iPod Classic SQ is inferior, you mind giving us the details on what it is about the Zune you don't like? This is a support forum and maybe someone could assist you.
For the longest time I THOUGHT I wanted an iPod. But then, my friend showed me her Zune. I thought it was the best thing in the world. I had never had an iPod or Zune before and my experience with the Zune has been AMAZING!!! I love it and would never go back.

Because I didn't want to be an iSheep- all my friends have iPods. Plust, the iPod forums suck and their games suck. zB is a better forum with better games and better people.
