1. I hate Apple, Ipod, And Itunes. (everything except their commercials)
2. The Zune is totally awsome.
3. I saw a zune 50% off and...
I got a 30g zune and spent a week putting all my CD's on it.
The End.
Now go to sleep.

I chose a zune because I wouldn't be giving money to that pompous turtleneck wearing mega tool Steve Jobs and because the zune is cool and has a lot of features also because the firmware is free

The reason I bought a Zune was I used to work for DHL in a college town and DHL did allot of returns/repair for apple and just on my route alone I bet I would average about 30 to 40 returns a week and most of them where I pod's and that is when I vowed never to buy an apple product.I had a Creative Lab's ZEN V M for a year and loved it but it gave out and I bought a Zune 80 and love it even more

I am a total audiobook nut! I've been listening to 2-3 different books a week... and in June the library I work at added downloadable audiobooks - bonus! So, about a month or two ago I was shopping for a MP3 player just for those downloadable audiobooks.... good thing I did my research - the majority of the downloadable audiobooks won't work on ipods... granted I totally hate itunes so that was another downfall for apple. But they still got some of my money - my husband got an ipod touch and loves it (not a fan at all)... I'll stick with my Zune120!

Didn't want an iPod cause EVERYONE I know has one or wants one, and I either hear of complaints, or of features that the Zune also had. The radio was also awesome. Basically I just felt that I didn't want to be herded into the same crowd with all the dumb people I knew...so I looked around to see if there was a better mp3 player than the iPod, and I found the Zune.

About trying to get other users, I dunno how much luck I'll have. All my friends are unwilling to give up their "awesome" iPods, even when I point out the COUNTLESS perks of using a Zune. It's funny how they like to point out tiny little useless aesthetic things about the iPod that somehow override all the USEFUL things a Zune can do. Oh well...

Talking

I got my zune free cuz my sister didn't like it. It is my first MP3 player. Everyone says it is huge, but I think it is alot smaller than my old walkman. I am glad that it has 30G of storage because I have a lot of epsodes of Family Guy on it. I think it sounds great on my new speakers. I got four Sony 4-way floorstanding speakers and a 100 watt onkyo reciever. I also like the zune dock. It has a neat remote.

I had a Creative Zen Sleek - 20 GB music only. I wanted something that would also play video and I looked at the iPod and the Zune. I liked the size of the Zune screen and that it had an FM tuner in it. I eneded up with the 30 GB. Still use it every day - had it for a year and a half. Getting the 120 for Christmas.

Ok, i had a 5, 20, 30 and 40 gig Creative Labs Zen player. One of them was the Zen Vision M.
The M was an excellent player, but i needed more space.
Creative didnt make an 80, so i looked at the options.
An ipod or a zune.
Well i listened to my friends ipod.
The sound quality was actually horrible as compared to the Zen and there was no FM tuner.

So i bought the zune 80.
Was upset that there was no EQ, or that my PC didnt see the zune as a hard drive, but it is a great player.
I have had no issues and i listen 8 hours a day, and have had this for a year now.

I had a ipod video 30gb and after a month of loving it the new wore of and within a month I HATED it, then one time I dropped it (accidently I swear) and it broke. I checked out my friend's creative and didn't like it, so I decided on the zune 30gb, which was nearly new at the time. I loved it from day one, and after a year and a half I decided it was time to upgrade, and found a great deal on a 120gb, which I have now, I totally love this player and have sworn never to get another ipod.

anyway the long and the short of it is that I didn't like the whole setup of the ipod (no wallpaper anyone?) and tried a zune which I loved and currently own

I had a few friends at work a few years back with a Zune, at the time I really couldnt "afford" to buy another MP3 player [my nano was stolen] So I finally decided to buy me a Zune, no the 2nd gen I wanted a 1st gen. So I found me a awesome looking black 30gb Zune on Amazon! Me and my "Mini Mints" have been inseperatable! I just need better headphones and Ill be set!

Hopefully Zune marketplace will be larger like the XBL marketplace and add movie rental/purchases.

EDIT: And the awesome deals on getting music too! .99 cents for a album?! HECK YEAH!

I chose a zune mainly cause i hate mac, not just to hate them for no reason, but because they are...to put it nicely, poorly designed in the eyes of someone whos been intimate with windows for 10 years. also, using ipods with windows blows and itunes fing suxx (in my opinion) the only complaint i have against zune is the extreme skills or unzoone required to uninstall it, its harder to get totally off your comp than AOL, and the lack of avi support

oh well, you cant have it all

Well, originally I had a 1Gb iPod shuffle, and, I like mostly everyone else thought that iPods were the only way to go. Then, I washed my shuffle and i had no mp3 player for a long time. A short time ago, my friend who owns the 4gb ipod nano, told me that i could have his old zune, i was skeptical at first but thought i have no money so why not. i took the player home and hooked it up to my computer, it charged for a bit, because it was dead, i upgraded the firmware (he didn't touch it in forever) and then i fell in love with it. It's a zune 30 and i am so glad i have it now.

Mine was gift. I have never owned an ipod or other name brand mp3 player, just a few off brand mp3 players 512m, 1g junk ones etc. I really had no use for a bigger one until a recent job change. I have always used itunes or winamp as my music collection which is just shy of 20k songs. While the player itself I love the lack of integration is driving me crazy. While there seems to be a way around most obstacles for my day to day stuff I prefer a one stop shop that is simple when I need it to be for updating and searching, but can also do a reliable job of taking care of my organizational needs as well. The zune desktop software has a long way to go before it becomes a real media manager. At least with firmware policy of the zune as the software matures I won't have to pay for updates. That I look forward to.

iPods are just one big marketing machine kool-aid punch that everyone else seems to be drinking. I had a Creative Zen before my Zune and vow to not have any sort of Apple anything ever.

FIRST POST!

I have never brought a MP3 player before. I'm 19 and live in Australia. Now i'm a big fan of music and love MP3 players, but the only one I really seen at school and stuff was the i-pod.... now don't get me wrong, the ipod is a nice device. Being totally unbiased its very cool with its little scroll wheel yada yada but every bloody one kept breaking down, so i thought i wouldn't get one.

The reason I finally thought that it's time to buy a MP3 player was because i was burning a new disc for my car every bloody week! Annoying.

I could have easily bought an I-pod but the sole reason for not buying one was out off all my friends (about 90% of which owned an I-pod) only 2 girls ipods had lasted longer than a year... WTF thats alot of ipod (at least over 100) which cost upwards of $300 bucks

If i am going to spend all this money i al least want it to last longer than that. Now i know that you can get them replaced and all but they never seems to last much longer anyway.

So i went hunting online for a player and what do i come across? ZUNE! OMFG wifi, sharing song, sharing pictures, sharing videos, 80 gig, radio (which i thinks a great feature!), wireless syncing, awesome screen, and the biggest and most important for me was nearly every single review gave it a really strong toughness rating and person reviews said it lasted! the list goes on

I'm so set on the zune that i look for a place to buy one...they don't sell them in Australia o.O...GOD DAM IT

After a couple weeks still looking i think screw it, i'm getting myself a zune. Ebayed it, my black 80 is coming in 3 weeks for about $50 bucks more than an i-pod classic 80 but it comes with 3 kits (car, tv and can't rememebr the other) plus case and portable charger so i think that all that including the delivery fee is about the same as an i-pod if not better value. But most important its a god dam zune and not an ipod.

I Cannot, repeat CANNOT wait for my zune....i really hope i get a good one as i can't send it in to repair. I have rang the guy and he tests all them first before shipping to see if they work. He has 100% positive feed back so i'm pretty confiedent.

I really hope that I like the zune (as i've never seen/touch one in real life). But from what i've read/seen on videos, i'm ganna love it.
When I get it i'll post some pictures
