Truthfully i just wanted to be diffarent
seems kinda lame but EVERYONE had an ipod how are you supposed to show something you got off if EVERYONE already has it. But right now i would buy a zune over an ipod just because of all the stuff they came out with the 3.0 update ![]() ![]() |

I got one because I like tinkering with things that are new, and I'd never owned an iPod so I didn't have any bias towards it. My first mp3 player was an iRiver ifp-700, 512 mb flash player. I still have it. Next I had a 20 GB iRiver h10, and those broke on me. They took one semi-hard fall -in the silicon skin it came with- and then completely died a few days later. I sent it in once and then lost enthusiasm for a while.
I guess I got a Zune because, well, why the hell not? Actually before 3.0 came out I was considering selling it and getting an iPod. The new firmware has fixed a few of my problems. Sometimes I still wonder if I should have gotten an iPod -I'm not a particular fangirl either way; I have an XP box, an Ubuntu laptop, and am comfortable on a Mac- but I'm okay with the Zune. The iPod is friendlier to classical music fans like me but I realize that I'm in a complete minority. Basically nobody in my demographic listens to my kind of music, and Microsoft isn't marketing at all to classical fans. Which is a good move, since we're only 5% of the market. I must admit though that the screen is nice. I recently got my hands on every episode of the original Star Trek and have watched an episode or two when I'm too tired to read but can't fall asleep. It would kill my eyes on a smaller screen. /rant It's 1 AM here, forgive me. |

my friend devon got the zune 30 right after it came out. as soon as i saw that thing i was hooked. i loved his zune. that was 2006. i had an iPod classic and really did not wan't to spend that much money to upgrade to zune, but as soon as my iPod broke, i was at circuit city. i bought a zune 80 on dec. 5, 2007 and i am hooked on zune. zune will always be better than iPod and i believe that zune will eventually have the dominant amount of buyers. ZUNE!!!

The first mp3 player I ever got was stolen from me 3 weeks after I had gotten it. I went back to cds and about a year later I got the Sansa e20r for Christmas. Well it worked really great for me until got some kind of virus on it almost a year after I had gotten it. Being the person that I am I alway buy a warranty on my electronics (and there are many of them.) I originally was going to have my Sansa fixed, but then I saw the Zune. I was attracted to it because it was so big, and I remember my mom saying that she liked it a year earlier when she bought me my Sansa. I was instantly attracted. At this time I had no idea what the Zune could do. I just knew that I really needed a new mp3 player, and since it was only like $60 to upgrade to the Zune I couldn't pass it up. I took my Zune home, and I have been in love ever since. Something went wrong with my Zune 30GB a few days ago so now I have a new red Zune 80. Yay!

As of today, why would I choose the zune?
I love my 30. Let it be known. I could do with a squircle, but I can't have everything. I would however buy an 80 if I had the money. I like the touch pad more, I love the software, the games are awesome (And free! ^_^ Well, the first two... ) and the community is FINALLY going somewhere in Canada (Canadian eh, with a 30. How did that happen? Oh wait, Buffalo. BUT THERES MORE! It was free, from a friend. Broken, who bought it in buffalo, who lost the receipt, who didn't want to pay to get it fixed, there you go. ) So yea, Love em. |

The only reason I got a zune (30GB) was because I got it for free on club live. It's really great and I love it
. I think it beats the iPod by a landslide. It has a much nicer screen and is easier to get to things. |

Bigger screen for subbed anime, bigger screen in general, more durable(ive broken an iPod with my bare fist), i like Microsoft better then Apple. And...iTunes...I hate iTunes. Plus, it looked so much better, and it wasn't the overrated iPod.

I had a variety of small, low capacity mp3 players, including a couple of Sansas. I had been thinking of a larger player for awhile but didn't want an Ipod because all three of my kids had ones that failed them within a year of purchase. Woot had the 30 for chaep so I took the plunge. Sat in the box for months because I was too lazy to mess with it. Cranked it up a week ago and have not stopped since.

I chose the Zune path because I am Microsoft's b****! Not really, but I really hate iPods and even more so, iTunes. We have several Zunes in my house and one day one of my sons bought an iPod and brought it home. I wouldn't even let him into the house with it, kinda like inviting a vampire into your home. iPods, Apple = BLOODSUCKERS.

So, I have been a big fan of the subscription music services for a while. I was with YahooMusic for a while, but wanted a more integrated way to have my music delivered to me. I waited and waited on apple for iTunes to come out with subscription plans, but alas, they never did. Zune did, and with the Zune 2.0 and a better marketplace that I trialed for a few weeks, I felt I could live with the zune "brick" for a while. What I found is that I bought the zune for the subscription music, but microsoft has done a great job of really listening to the consumer (say what you will about ms, but they do seem to listen to the customer) and they put out a much better music player than the zune 1.0 and with the advent of the 3.0 firmware I am really starting to LOVE my player even more and more. I am disappointed that they are not including the "premium" ear phones anymore because I felt this set them apart from others, but all in all I am extremely pleased. Enough so that I have bought my wife an 8gb player. Now if I can just get it to work with my car stereo a little better...
