'cause it would make me cool to have a product that isnt released over here yet and might not ever be. Also I followed it pretty much from announcement and having never got an iPod (saw my friends always having trouble with them) and with needing to upgrade from my 512mb MPman i saw the zune as the perfect product for me. Been happy ever since

My nano broke after I STEPPED ON IT, and I was looking at the 2nd gen nano, and the Zune has a HUGE screen, wifi possibilities, 30 GIGS, and costs just $50 more.

The Zune not only looks way more sexy but the screen is almost twice as big as an ipods. The double effect around the edge is the most pimpin thing ever. And besdies that, apple sux, i think that who ever took that bite out of the apple (on apples logo) should have finished the dam thing and burned the poo the next day.

The Zune is a sexy beast.

I find that the Ipods get dirty very fast. When you first buy it, it does look ok, but soon smuges and sratches appear all over the thing. The Zune doesn't do this at all .
And yes, the Ipod is pop-culture. Apple now markets that pop-culture.

I bought the Zune because it was made from one company: Microsoft
Since Microsoft is known to have updates on their products, I knew this would apply to the Zune as well. I'm glad of buying it and hoping for newer and better features soon so it will blow the ipod out of the water.
My 4th Gen iPod died and I wanted my next device to play Videos, But the screen on the 5th Gen iPod was too small. So I got a Zune for the nice screen.. Tho my next device after the Zune will probably be an iPod.

because ipod is for sellouts and almost every one has one honestly i dont enjoy blending in the crowd tho if there is a crowd of zunes i would like to share my crappy techno with them oh yeah speaking of crappy techno check out my purevolume
I went to Best Buy with intentions on buying an iPod video! (I wuz goin on a weekend trip that weekend.) Wut sold me on the Zune wuz the larger screen for videos, (and also the warranty wuz 20 dollars cheaper than the iPod!) also I liked the radio feature, I am prolly one of few users to actually use this feature even with hundreds of music on my Zune already! I had a lil trouble installing the Zune, (so much that I wuz ready to take it back the next day!) but after I got it all figured out, I wouldnt trade my Zune for an iPod anyday!

Isn't the ipod dirty to begin with? It's made of poo Apple product gloss!
Meh, some things from Apple is amazing like the mac. Apple Computer Inc should stay making computers and leave mp3 players for Microsoft . Apple just sucks balls at the ipod.
I actually originally bought an iPod (I gasp now too).
I had an Urge.com account with tons of music and I wanted to take it with me on the go. I got went to Costco and saw the Zune. I actually laughed at it (I gasped again). I wasn't very media-player-smart and I knew the iPod was what I wanted (thanks to Apple's incesant marketing campaigns). It was very cool, sleek, and beautiful.
I went right home to find iPod didn't accept Urge. It didn't do much at all! The most frustrating part was when I took the iPod out of the box, it has this little sticker that reads, "Don't Steal Music" and I am happy to do so (I never go to sites like limewire) but they expect me to BUY every song to listen to on my iPod?
Me? The guy that has tons of CDs that I'll never listen to? I bought into the whole renting music model a long time ago and I wasn't gonna buy another track again. I promptly took that sh!t back!
I almost got the Sandisk Sansa 8Gb 'cause I knew it worked with Urge.com (another gasp!). But I saw the price on it ($169) and the Zune was $230 so I went with the more memory. I felt really weird about since one of my friends is a die-hard-mac fan. I knew I was going to the darkside in his mind.
I was called Bill Gate's b!tch....I was cursed to the depths of hell....but I couldn't be happier! I got home and found the Zune wouldn't accept Urge, but it did offer Zune Pass!! My problems solved!!!
That day, iPod died in my eyes. It wasn't the best thing, and I had the experience to prove it. I'm now trying to overcome the most frustrating thing about owning a Zune (no other Zunes to share with) by going on my own personal campaign to get more Zunes in people's hands or atleast their minds.... I'm always on Yahoo Answers talkin up the Zune...
Well that's it....Atleast I can say I got the original. Looks like Monday, they're gonna release the next generation zune...
the main reson why I bought the zune and not the iPod was cuz iPod is made by A***e so thats already a nono! and second was that just about everyone I knew had one(yes had lol)so i went with the zune and so did a couple of my friends when they noticed my zune

I went with the Zune mainly because I was so sick and tired of the iPod. Everyone has one, and honestly, none of the features of the iPod really "wow" me. Other players from other brands do the same things the iPod does and even more.
Second, the feature set. Wi-Fi is kinda limited now (sharing is cool though) but Microsoft can easily expand on that in future updates. I can easily see downloading tracks from Zune Marketplace when you're in a Wi-Fi hotspot. Plus, if you get bored of the stuff you have, you have an FM radio. And last but not least, the screen on this thing is GORGEOUS. Pictures and video truly look outstanding.
Third, it's a Microsoft product. I know, I know, I may sound like a fanboy here...but I really like MS's products. I love my 360, and I can't tell you how much crap I put XP through over the years and it continued to run well. (I upgraded to Vista though when it launched, and I love it) I just really like their products.
