Why did you choose the Zune over the iPod?

I don't want to be associated with the douchebags who sit in cafe's on their Apple laptops and think they're above everyone else. That's the type of people Apple seems to appeal to and that's the kind of person I never want to be.....so I got a Zune. And I couldn't be happier. I did however get an Iphone and it broke within 10 days and the replacement is a piece of garbage which made me even more confident in my decision to go with Zune. I have now bought 4 of them (1 as a gift)

I bought my zune because I'm completely against apple, and I would never want to give them anymore money then they already have. Although with Vista I'm actually think of buying a Mac Book Air. >_<

Alright there were actally many reasons why I chose my Zune over the Ipod.
1.design - I love the square look as opposed to curved
2. screen size - its like 3 times as big as Ipod
3. software - much cooler easier to use - portable
4. Customazation- Zune customazation is so Easy!
5. the touch pad
6. I can watch movies on a coll screen!

Basically I hate Ipods, now this is not just beacuse I have a Zune or because thay are apple, I have never liked thme just because they didnt appeal to me. The things above appeal to me!

Well I had the ipod Nano, and was running out of room for my music.
So i was about to step it up to the 30gb ipod, when my nano just completly stopped working.
AFter that i got a little uncertain about apple, and a bunch of my friends suggested zune, i love it!

My first mp3 player was a 1gb sansa 320. It was pretty practical not too many features. Basically it just played music. I later sold it and bought a Sony 1gb mp3 player, which was basically the same thing except it had a built in battery that lasted a really long time. Later I decided to buy a PSP because of the media capabilities, but it was too big to carry around conviniently and the battery didn't last too long, so I started looking for a smaller mp3 that played videos too. I looked for a while and almost bought one of those sorta egg shaped Creative zen players with like a 1.5 inch screen from one of my friends but instead I bought a rca mp3 which was basically the same thing as the creative, it was just new. I tried it out and I was unhappy with it because my computer wouldn't convert video files to the appropriate format, and I watched one of the included videos and noticed that the video quality was pretty crappy. So I returned it. I started looking on ebay and found some 3rd gen iPod nanos and I was interested in buying them, but the price didn't stray too far from the 150 dollar retail price. One of my friends later convinced me to get a Zune instead, becuase of the more features(particularly the Sharing, Upcoming games, and Custom backrounds is what sold me), equal capacity, and cheaper price. So I started looking for some online. I found one on ebay for about 105 dollars, so I ordered it. I waited about 3 weeks and still nothing, so I contacted the seller and asked if he had a tracking number, he said he did and that it said it had already arrived. So I checked it and it said it had already arrived. So I assumed that it was at the post office, since I hadn't recieved any notices. I went to the post office and talked to them and they said they didn't have anything and that they would call me later with more info. So I waited about 3 days and no call. I went back and talked to them again, they told me to talk to my mail man and I did. He said he would call me later too. He never did, so I went to the post office again and told them that I wanted them to replace the item or pay me the money, I even had the paperwork from ebay and the tracking number, but they told me that they wouldn't be held liable for it since it said that it had already been delivered. So I gave up on it. I later decided to just go buy one at Wal-Mart trying to avoid another situation like this and I ended up with my 255 dollar 4gb Zune. I also bought it to want to be different from all the iPod owners. I'm tired of hearing all the ignorant consumers thinking that the iPod and Zune are the same thing. NO THEY ARE NOT! There are some significant features that set them apart, but consumers are too stupid to figure this out and instead go and buy the more notoriously known one.The iPod. Now I have set my mission in life to go convince everyone to buy a Zune to where even in the middle of the ocean if you scan you will find someone....well not really, but I do try to convince anyone that asks me about it.

I chose the zune over the i-pod cause 1 i went through at least 6-7 and my zune has lasted for about 1.5 years and only needed a new battery

I wanted to "think different" when it came to buying an MP3 player. :P

Joking aside, I really don't like the click wheel of the iPods, not to mention the fact that I was a tad disappointed in the sound quality. This reason alone has been why I've stuck with Creative MP3 players for so long, but I finally grew tired of waiting for a true replacement to the Vision:M. Finally I heard the Zune was coming to Canada, and I thought I'd give it a shot.

I hate Apple. They are money-grubbing thieves who are happy to lie to get a buck or two. They make Ipods by the thousand, probably from some cheap labor camp in Indonesia or something; taking advantage of another's plight, as is the norm for them. I am not, by any means, a MS fanboy (nevermind that I am female), but I will admit that I do run XP on all the computers I build, have an XBox 360, and adore my Zune to pieces. Microsoft really is not as bad as they seem. Most of the complaints are from users who don't know what they are doing anyway. PICNIC, if you will. (Problem In Chair, Not In Computer). I work in the electronics department of a major retailer and always recommend the Zune over the Ipod for the following reasons: 1) Music sharing. 2)Radio that gets better reception than any boom-box I have ever owned. 3) Built like a small tank. 4)When I buy a song for 99 cents, I OWN IT. I am not renting it from iTunes. 5)iPods are NOT, nomatter what they try to convince me of, compatible with a PC! They never will be, so stop trying, Apple. It is very difficult to believe that an iPod is anything other than a piece of garbage when out of every single item that gets returned to my store, I see more iPods than ANYTHING else because they break or malfunction. They are, without a doubt, trash, and the Zune is built well, the software works well, the compatability is there, and I am happy. That is why I bought a Zune. (sorry about ahving to write a novel here.)

1.looked better
2. customizable backgrounds
3.i own an xbox 360.. they connect
4.i've listened to and played around with my friends ipod and zune.. the zune had me more.
5. color (shiny blood red) appealed to me
6.interface is just better.

But now that i own a zune i just like to say:
IPOD SUCKS!

I had a crappy nano for a while, it didnt have enough space so i wanted to upgrade. all my friends' ipods kept breaking so one of my friends got a zune. i saw it and loved it so i vowed to get one but...no money. i went to club.live.com, played some of the games, and got a white 30gb zune for free!! greatest thing thats ever happened to me lol.

I just didn't like Itunes. Just seemed weird to run a Apple software on Windows, so I went ahead and got the Zune 80 for Christmas. Most awesome Christmas ever.
