Why did you choose the Zune over the iPod?

It was all the Zune Pass, I tried it a week before the actual device came out and I was sold. So I sold my iPod Video and bought the Zune in the first week, loved it for watching videos even though the software/device wasn't the greatest. Then I went to the Zune 80 and now with firmware 2.5 I really am completely happy instead of just having it because iTunes doesn't offer a subscription.

I was given enough money to buy either an ipod or the zune (80g) so i hopped on the internet and began doing research on both. I had an ipod and i let it on a plane and never saw it again. I loved the fact that the zune played more video flies than the ipod and that it was a Microsoft product. But what sold me the most was the fact that i could do wireless. I LOVE MY ZUNE

I chose my Zune over the ipod because for one, it had more features than the ipod and was cheaper. It has a radio and you can change the background, plus you can even wirelessly sync. I have a first generation black ipod nano 1 GB and it didn't have enough room. I was looking to buy a bigger ipod, but realized that the ipod nano 8 GB cost 20 dollars more than the 8 GB Zune. And the Zune did more! It just seemed like a no brainer. So here I am, with my red 8 GB Zune happier than ever. ^_^

I picked the Zune cause it was cheaper, had a bigger screen, better battery life, and more features like the radio.

I picked the Zune for multiple reasons

1st off, one of my best friends is an apple whore, everything he owns has that annoying little apple logo on it. He thinks Steve Jobs is really Jesus and honestly worships the guy so after 5 years i got tired of it. Definitely getting a Zune

2nd, the Zune was cheaper, less prone to scratches, had radio and the social feature to send and receive music with your buddies or complete strangers around you, and to me the zune was just overall more appealing in its appearance to me.

3rd, I just hate Ipods cuz everyone has one. It's good to be different!

It was a tough choice for me. Both my Dad and Younger Brother have an Ipod. My dad has one of the reeeeaaaally old ones. It's so old the screen interface isn't even in color! Still works too.

My Brother has a Ipod 30. Nice player there is a problem. He keeps his Ipod in a case that I got for him and he took it out once to clean the dirt that got under the case. The back of his Ipod was literally starting to fall off! After seeing it really made me wonder how well they were made.

My brother also hates Ipods because he's anti Apple. ((His Ipod was a gift)) He had one of his friends show me his mp3 player. The Zune 30. He's had it since christmas and has no problems with it. And it was in great condition even without a case.

So compared to my brothers falling apart Ipod with a case and his friends zune that was holding together like a champ. . .that helped.

Ultimately I choose the Zune because of a bigger screen and I liked the Zune software more than Itunes.

Cheaper, More durable, Tank when dropping(on accident), bigger screen, better quality service, overall easier and more efficient.
I mean, I dropped my ZUNE a couple months ago, and its HDD failed, so I sent it in and in about a month I got a new one for no charge. Only downside is that I had a Brown 30, and they sent me a refurbished Black 30. I miss my brown zune.

Well, I'm not exactly an M$ fanboy, but I hate Apple even more. M$ openly decalres they are out for your money. Apple hides, but does even more than M$ to lock you into their products and make you pay for everything you can. The iPod lacks in so many areas compared to the Zune, and it's almost laughable how Apple considers themselves king of anything but the mp3 player market. M$, at any one time, owns 90-95% of the computer market in America. Were it not for the iPod, I'm not sure if Apple would be having half the success they, that and their evil iTunes to boot.

yeah i hate ipods cause everyones go one so to see that some people have a zune is nice. I love mine. I like how easy it is to use compared to looking for 5 minutes just to find a movie on my sisters ipod. I hate the click wheel. I also love the thing at the top called the twist it makes finding music easier. The zune also charges much faster. I also love the radio features. anyways I love it.

I had a Zune 30 and lost it, and considered an ipod classic. Apple could have gotten my money, but the scroll wheel is too slow to fly through my collection. The Zunepad, however, is perfect. Plus the glass screen and FM radio are both nice.

I had a toshiba gigabeat f40 before the zune. hacked it with rockbox. enjoyed it immensly until i ran out of space for my music. Next option was either a 80 gig ipod or 80 gig zune. I've always hated Apple though I have to say that they are pretty. Plus, I've been a user of Microsoft for a long time. It seemed like an obvious decision. I'm beyond happy with it.

I got a Zune bcuz my Zen broke and i detest ipod and all of their zombies. I thought the Zune would be no different than the Zen but booooy was i wrong! The Zune frickin RAPES the Zen and it puts a bullet in the ipods face!!

I've never owned an ipod. I've always been a creative person. I heard on some forums that the audio quality of the zune30 was superior to the audio quality on the ipods.

So finally my creative zen died and the zune80 was just released so i got one. Now there's two Zune80 on my house because my wife want it one so bad.
