Why did you choose the Zune over the iPod? - Page 13

My 14 yr old son is interested in a Zune. All his friends have ipods, and since I'm new to this Zune thing, what makes them better tham an ipod? He has a Creative Zen now, but wants to upgrade. I need help, and that's why I'm here. I've looked at the prices, and that's not my concern, he's been looking at the 80 GB one, and I'm wondering how well they actually work, and the ease of use with the computer.

Please can someone help explain these things and help me make the decision on which to get him.

If you want ease of use on the computer side, iTunes rocks. Though you could download the Zune program and iTunes and compare them before buying either device.. As for iPod vs Zune, thats extremely tough. If its main use will be music, I will recommend the iPod because it has an Equalizer and better battery life. Though if he plans on watching full-length movies, go with the Zune for its much larger screen... If he wants a Zune, I say get him one. Either way, you can't go wrong. And can always exchange if necessary.

I was under the impression that the 80 Gb Zune had an equalizer. Am I wrong?

there is wireless sync function this could help should he lose the cord or want to sync from anywarein the house and xbox 360 conectivity so he can watch is movies on the tv plus a bigger screen

So it doesn't have an equalizer built into the unit itself. The Creative Zen he has now has one in it. He will use this for music, but I think he'd enjoy being able to watch movies where is friends can't.

I have had my zune only 2 days but love it already.
I dont like the price of the ipods. Have 2 psp's but wanted more space for music and movies and smaller to carry

I'm not concerned with the price of the unit, I just want to get my son the best unit for his needs. He listens to a great deal of music, but I like the aspect of being able to watch movies and viedos. and yet I want the music to sound good. some of the nusic he listens to needs more bass, and others don't. He likes all kinds of music from AC/DC, Ozzy, country, to modern Pop and R 'n B. So being able to change the way it sounds matters to me.

.:I figured the ipods are over rated so I would gladly try something new the zune is pretty great, ive had mine for over a yr not too many problems

specially considering the ipod i got b4 it broke within 24 hours:.

all the zunes don't have equalizer but the sounds are pretty good already and zune is a good deal if your looking for a mp3 player.

The equalizer lets you change the sound of songs, nothing special and doesn't really affect me. Some people like it, but it just doesn't do much.
