I didn't feel like buying a new ipod evertime a new one came out, so i choose the zune because you can always upgrade to the newest firmware that a new gen has. Plus Ipod is becoming a super cliche with everyone having one and people calling an ordinary mp3 player an ipod, it just annoys me.

I think I chose it because I wanted to go for the underdog.

That and I totally see Apple becoming too dominant in the music industry.

I made a vow to never buy an iPod. After my creative zen vplus died on me i knew it was time for a serious music device...So i shopped around and started to save money(always eyeing the zune) Then my friend bought a zune and dagn it was kick butt. Then and there i made my decision. A little while later i went to Ozzfest and then had Zune stuff everywhere, i got like 5 of those trial 1 month free download card things, and the next day i bought a black zune 30. The very first music i put on it was the CD they were throwing at people at Ozzfest. Sadly a few months later someone dropped a chair onto my zune and the lcds cracked. This Christmas i got a new black zune 80 and i protect it like it's my baby with a record of no drops and no scratchs!

Default Zune Over iPod

. . . WMA Perfect (Lossless), read about the good audio quality, aesthetically appealing search views

Ah yes I like how you can upgrade firmware also! Big Plus to ZUNE over the iPod

3 reasons!!
1. Wi-fi (of course)
2. BIGGER screen
3. Ipod sucks!

Talking I used to have a 15g 3rd gen ipod

My 3rd gen ipod was fun for awhile..... until the battery started to go, and those little buttons at the top weren't as appealing as they used to be. sold it to an ipod collector guy online. Why is he collecting ipods? Are they really that old? I knew i needed something new. Thats where the zune came in!

Meh, Im not really sure. I had an option of either, so I just went with the one that came in brown, mainly because it wasn't black or white.

i chose the zune for the same reason as a lot of other people, the screen. i have nothing against ipods, i actually think they are the greatest thing to happen to the portable media market. i just like the size of the screen on the zune. i couldnt imagine watching movies/tv on a screen any smaller than the zune's.

Yeah, it is just a nice balance between big screen and portable player.

There are two reason I bought my Zune 30. The first being was that I need a gift to cheer myself up after breaking up with my girlfriend. Secondly, I had just gotten a new Sears card with a $3000 limit and figured it was time to upgrade to a better Mp3 player I was using a sansa240. They had those new video Ipod Mini's/Nanos/Iitty Bitties and Zunes. The clerk told me to try the Zune since he had one and an Ipod and he said the Zune was WAY better. I took the Zune and fell in love with it right away.

I just didn't like the idea of i-pod being the only big name mp3 player.

price, it's capabilities are better then an ipod in some aspects, it's not controlled by the all powerful i-tunes, i don't really buy any internet downloads i just buy whole cds, because 9 out of 10 i like the whole cd, Zune is virtually customizable in every way, and to me it's like a PC vs a Mac computer style. The zune you can really get into it and edit things in the setup, but an ipod you can't really get into that, so it's difference of being able to do by exploring, rather then do by limitation.
