Default How Tough Is Your Zune?

Leave a reply with your zune story to honor our unifying force =]

This is a lil testimonial to my zune.

ok, so id say (and so would my friends and family) that im really rough on my gear. ive broken 2 cell phones in 4 months, both of military grade durability ratings, and ive burnt out numerous MP3 players. I use my music player at least 6 hrs a day, every day. And i am not gentle. So by the time i considered buying a zune, i figured that id get the cheapest one, expecting it would be dead soon. So on christmas, i bought my zune 4gb red and played with it a while. It had nice features, wireless which was sweet, and all my music on it.

Lemme get this straight: this thing has taken some hardcore abuse. Smashed against walls, walked on, dropped from over 6 feet onto concrete, even ran over by a F-350. Its still working, no defects or problems, audio and video as clear as it could be. I was impressed, all my other MP3 players would not work after about 4 months because the board inside em went haywire. ive made one smoke before X). But here we are, almost 9 months later, and its still kicking ass =]

Thank you Microsoft, for giving me a truly durable product, and something to battle the much-hated Ipod everyone seems to love. ZUNES ARE BETTER.

And Thank You, Zuneboards.com, for showing me how to make my Zune the best in school with games, hacks, and mods to show everyone that mine, like me, is nowhere near generic.

You sure you didn't accidently buy God's personal Zune? I wasn't aware that was even possible. That's really, really resilient.

Well, I'm infantry in the US Army, and I've dropped my Zune many times... (beneath Humvies, Bradleys, etc... and the damn thing survived.

Someone in Seattle did their math for durability.

I can't say I've made my Zune go through enough to prove that it's really tough XDDD But I'm the type of person who can break a high quality mp3 in two weeks without even doing anything to it O.o

So it's a miracle that my Zune is still alive, even after all the times I dropped it while running, walking and dancing XDDDD I throw it around, too, cause I'm too lazy and it still works.

Hell, I dropped it in that parking lot where the concrete has like mad rocks in it and it was screen-down, too. But it still works. ^^

I have an old ass First release zune. TOUGH AS ****IN' NAILS!!!! I've dropped it on concrete (like others I guess) and the worse thing that happened of the five times this has happened was that It froze..........so I charged it again.....and it was fine when it was done.

My friend bitched at me about it being to thick but I don't mind carrying something thats a little thicker for better durability.

my 30gb was in my pocket while i was walking in the rain, dont ask, and it was soaked by the time i got it home, i wrapped it in a towel, left it until i got dry clothes, then i unwrapped it, dried off any extra water on it, and i was surprised it still worked fine.

"AIR TIGHT SEAL" another amazing feature of the zune. Now that that's mentioned I notice no dust on the inside part of my screen.

Mines survived getting run over by my bike along with falling down a staircase. Though, the screen is kinda banged up considering one of the morons in my school who really doesn't like me managed to make quite a few deep scratches in it...considering figuring out a way to get those out...

I have never abused my zune (yet) and I hope I don't. But wow, Run over by an F-350!!?!, Nice.

Also I think MS should make an ultra durible version with the old 1st gen cover and it could have a 62gig SSD HDD in it and other super durible stuff.

LOLOLOLOL!

ok, now thats out of the way..
i have an 80GB zune, and i've dropped it onto concrete pathways several times by accident. The first time it happened, my heart jumped into my mouth as it fell down as i was sure my precious zune would smash into several pieces.. surprisingly the worst thing it came out with was a scratch. I've dropped it a few times since (once or twice managing to catch it on the way down) and it always comes out working.. Thanks MS for such a wondeerful, reliable music player!

I have a 30 gig (white) but for some reason, I dont remember EVER dropping it. If I have, then it was from about 3 feet onto carpet. It has no scratches, no marks, just 100% pure hawtness. It literally looks like it is brand new.

I thought my zune 120 would be better than this I had it for about a month and I got a few scratches and a tiny chip on the side...

I was super happy when I got rid of my ipod case for my zune...While it way better than my ipod, it not as great as I like it to be..

My white 30 is a tank. It's put up with me throwing it in my car, in my desk, in by backpack; been sat on; been on countless trips (airport security is not paid to be gentle); and accidentally stepped on. Not only that, but it's survived multiple occasions with "Hurricane" Allie, my 3 year old little girl.

She's broken more stuff than I care to remember, but she has yet to hurt my Zune. I let her watch Lil' People or some other animated series when we go on trips together. She always waits til I turn my back before seeing how far she can drop it or throw it.

The Zune reminds me of the old Timex commercials: It's taken a licking, but it's kept on ticking.

I'd just like to say that my first gen Zune could swallow nuclear bombs and s**t out mushroom clouds. Last week I was walking to school and it fell out of my hand, it didn't even phase it. I used it after that, but now today, I take it out to sync it and the inside of the screen is cracked and all black. When I saw that I wanted to cry. And the worst part is that I don't know how it happened but it's really frightening to think of what the cause could be, how much force it would take. So right now I'm kinda sad, got to start saving for a new one now. RIP Super Cool Black Zune with the blue tinge, you served me well.
