Zune Broken within the month?

I definitely love my Zune 8 ( I LOVE THAT SOFTWARE, TOO!) but i recently sent it off for repairs when it isnt even a month old (in my possesion). I had droppes it from about a foot and a half from the ground and when i picked it up... !!! there were black lines plaguing the screens! did this ever happen to anyone else? This was my first time dropping it and it wasnt from a far distance. My Zune is weak...

Because of the LCD screen if it is damaged it will do this

I remember once (accidentally) Shooting my sisters monitor with her airsoft gun. I blamed my cat.

i dropped my zune but not from a foot & a half, but i do have the gen 1...it was about six feet onto concrete, but yea depending on where it falls yea the screen will be damaged, its about the most delecate thing on the whole device.

i would probabley get a plastic case for you zune when it gets back from repairs...

I threw my zune at a chair... On accident(long storyish). and it didn't break... although about a week later it did and I had to send it in for repair. I think zune games broke it that time... or it was just a fluke error. Never the less, mine survived quite a large fall, with out any damage, so it's suprsising 1.5 feet broke it. Gl with repair though!

I droped my zune rufly 5 feet out of my hand ...but It was in a hard plastic case it saved my zune nothing happened to my zune only cracked my case
