The Good.
I'm a microsoft person. I own a desktop with XP, a Laptop with Vista, a cell phone with Windows Mobile, and now, a 30GB Zune. It was a no brainer for me. I spent several weekends worth of spare time (which there is'nt alot of let me tell you!) ripping close to 250 CD's into it. I installed the software onto both computers and have had no problems whatsoever syncing at any time. I use it mostly in my car, set on random,I even cancelled XM radio because I have my own personal radio station, so to speak. This is a good player, with lot's of room for microsoft style software improvements. The Bad Not much to speak of here. Aside from the fact that my new Pioneer FH-P800BT car head unit won't recognize it through the USB input. The DRM stuff is a bit annoying also. And finally, it seems that if my CD has a skip in it, it simply records it with the skip. This seems odd to me. The Ugly This particular unit (30gb) could use a facelift, (except for the screen which is a very nice display IMO. A slimmer, sleaker design with a touch interface would rock, and I would be forced to purchase it . Anywho, Bottom line is, that am glad I purchased my Zune after all is said and done. |

Don't fret about the car stereo USB port. So far there are no USB's on car or home stereos that will recognize the Zune. I think it's the same for Ipods also, but don't have one of those.
When I first got my Z30, I liked the hardware features but was really frustrated by the software. Version 2.3 didn't handle album art so well, and often did not sync as expected. I was really ticked off about it for a while. But now ver 2.5 has really improved the art situation. That and some time using MP3Tag to get the tags right. I'm pretty pleased for now. I have 3000+ songs and over 95% show the right album art. And when I move to a big city next month I may even find somebody to swap songs with. The software still runs slowly, and sometimes I need to exit and re-start to get a good sync. But I'm learning to live with it. Wise Man says "Better to be pissed OFF than to be pissed ON". |

I'm actually pretty happy with my Z30. It's practically indestructible in my experience (little siblings rock). And the software does run a little slowly sometimes, but I never have a problem syncing. I have 2000+ songs on it and only 2 of the albums have the wrong album art, I think. I'm way pleased with the way my zune and software operate.

I love the Zune.
I have a z80 from Zune Originals it's red and it's beautiful. I have about 4000+ songs and all of them are tagged correctly and they have the correct album art. Yay for Zune!
