LUV 4 the Zune 8!

I am very happy to report my 8GB Zune is an excellent device and I would highly recommend it to others. This is my first mp3 player, however, I have used friends'/family's players over the years and can easily compare this player to the iPod nano, et al.

While I prefer the looks of the nano's aluminum case, I believe the Zune 8 is a better mp3 player. The new interface & touchpad are very intuitive and a notch above the iPod.

The radio, glass screen, and ability to set visual backgrounds are the features that pushed me towards the Zune over the others.

While some have stated they have had problems with the software, I have had no such problems and find it is actually quite good. It seems as though the complaints come from those with operating systems that do not support this software (i.e. XP without service pack 2 and before). And it is unfortunate their complains are misplaced towards the Zune when their systems are running an OS that is too old.

The supplied earbuds are "OK," however, I have never liked earbuds (as a whole) because I find them rather uncomfortable. At home, I prefer my street styled headphones for improved audio performance and comfort. And I only use my earbuds when jogging, etc.

All in all, a fantastic audio-video-podcast-picture viewer companion!

Does it have the ability to display animated screen savers? I've heard they can, and I've heard they can't.

Yay! Another satisfied Zune Owner!!! It's always good to read good stories of people and their zunes. Instead of bad ones like the screen breaking, fell in some water, etc... But yeah Happy Zune-ing!!! Glad you like it!!

Congrats with the zune, and as I've noticed... a lot of people do like the nano's looks better, but anyone I know who has used both players loves the zune... But yeah, congrats and welcome to zb

thanks Jon for yours, I've noticed you and a few others are the backbone of ZB. It's the "community" that makes ZB so great and offers great information/advice to people like myself.
