but it seems like more and more people are having bad experiences.....or is that simply because there are more and more Zune?

I say both. If you think about it, the reason could only be because there are more Zunes. Or at least, that would definitely increase the amount of people having issues. Nothing has changed in terms of software or firmware in quite a while, so people are probably still buying Zunes and running into issues that we've had for a while now. Or, they've realized that firmware updates are feeling like few and far in between and are giving up. None of my issues are deal breakers, but sometimes this device can be so annoying.

zune is the best. but really u shouldn't have quit on zune, it's the best device ever. zen is ok, i seen one before, it's ok but the screen is so tiny! u could barely see anything.

have fun with the zen, but the zune has the clearest blackest silence of any mp3 player except for imodded ipod.

i love the sq on the zune - best i've heard for under $400

I think You'll like it more if you upgrade your computer and your firmware. As soon as I made the jump from iPod to Zune I was like "look what I've been missing, it's so nice over here in Zuneland" lol but give it another try

I used to have a CREATIVE LABS NOMAD JUKEBOX ZEN XTRA 60GB and that thing crapped out on me right after my ability to return it to the retailer past. it kept deleting all my music off actually...i will admit having the ability to remove and replace the rechargable battery is a good idea...but another issue i was having was that the latch would be slightly hit and the whole front of the thing would pop open...

yes, microsoft can fix those software/firmware problems. but unlike zen and ipod, if zune have any software/firmware problem it can be fixed by next gen of software/firmware

Why can't the same be said for the iPod. With my experience with iPods, Apple was quick to fix bugs. They haven't really enhanced the software, other than the iTunes Store, because it pretty much does everything you would need other than converting, which it also does depending on the format of your video. Apple slacked off with the iPod Classic in the beginning, but other than that they're pretty quick to fix errors.

Default Zen

I have had a Zen v+ and an M. They are not worth the switch at all. They remind me of off brand mp3 players that have no customer support and little third party interaction. Have fun leaving the social and joining the... oh yeah creative does not even have a place for creative owners to interact. Wait! Creative makes more ipod accesories than creative mp3 player accesories. whats up with that??!??!?

I'm pretty sure they said that they would mainly develop for the iPod in the future. I could be wrong, but I remember reading that somewhere.

Perhaps it's because they feel there is money to be made? Considering ipod own over half of the MP3 market share. (thats a rhetorical question btw.)

Also, I had a Zen vision:M... well I still have it, and use it until my Zune arrives. The only reason I'm moving over is because 30gb isn't enough for me anymore. Other than that, I think it's going to be extremely hard for my Zune to top the ZVM. It truly was a great player, and still is well after it's years.

Just as long as microsoft keeps fixing things, and not just brining out new genereations of hardware, I think the Zune should have a god life too though! (And I must admit, although I'm sad to see the ZVM go, I'm very excited to try out my new Zune. Will be here today I hope!)

Zens are great players so I am glad you found the time to enjoy yourself here.
Zunes are good too so I am glad you could experience the zune social.

TRAITOR! (just kidding) Sorry to hear you didn't like your zune, but at least you've now found an mp3 player that's right for you. So good luck with your new zen.

What ever works for you, if every time you use it and feel happy about then it's for you.

That "problem" is actually not a problem. I have my Zune and all I did was go to settings and in the sync options I checked where it said Let me Choose. That way, it doesn't Sync automatically. I have music in my Zune I don't even have in my computer and it doesn't get erased. I even take my Zune to my friend's house, get music from his collection and plug it in my PC without the music there and I have no problem. Of course, everytime I want to put some new music in it, I sync it manually in the software. I just put the music in the folder and right click on it and click on the Sync to "name of your Zune" and that's it.
