First ZUNE the 80! after three iPods --:)

extremely new to Zune and after first impressions heres what I think.

So, for Christmas I decided to once again upgrade my mobile music device. I was previously the owner of three iPods, a second gen ipod (first gen without the buttons) and after that I "upgraded" to a mini. and also got a shuffle for the gym. Up until this past month I had been using the mini for everything because the 2nd gen had LONG ago died from hdd failure [fixed with the smack it on the ground fix (no joke it actually works re-seats the hdd)] but by then the battery life was non-existant. So the Mini had been my primary device (shuffle was a WASTE of $ ). Just upgraded to the ZUNE 80 woo.!t and i am loving it heres a quick list of what appeals to me

-SQURICLE!

-sleek modern look, I was so damn sick of the generic iPod shape color cheap ass plastic soft aluminum that I could pretty much Bite and squish the flash drive (mini)

-Durability, comes to the gym with me (naked cant find a good case with waist clip) has already been hit in the back (of the zune) with a 65lb dumbbell, I almost cried but there was nothing not even a scratch/dent.

-Color loving the matte black and matte aluminum back.

-RADIO !!!!($@...clearly this is a far too innovative and new tech for apple to include

-Being able to change the background to whatever (currently rocking a nice AC Altair picure)

-Zune software was sick of itunes Zune runs flawlessly on vista and im loving its interface artist/album/song like the setup.

-premium headphones are the sh!t

-It's really sexy, I look at it even now a month old and i just want to touch..not like the 2nd gen where I was like oh...look same as last year and the year before..

-Very light weight, I was shocked at how light it was
quickly..
-Massive screen
-BRIGHT colors album art looks sick Music vids are Sexy!
-glass screen!!@

-that silver ring around the squircle
-the zune icon !@ its cool looking

theres more but I want to stop thinking and play with my Zune really bad now

oh and for the record I used to be an ipods are cool apple is so innovative ill never get a zune. I was wrong... bill gates kicked ass with the xbox 360 which is the best game console to date for MANY reasons and with time the Zune 2,3,4 ... whatever is next will take the iPod off the pedestal that it earned long ago but does NOT deserve now.

im looking for help with my zune i just got 1 my dad has 1 and i loaded the disk and went threw all the steps and i cant get my computer or the player to sync the thing iv even tryed my dads and it does not pop up. i put it on his computer and its right thier and i can put stuff on it but i need it on my computer so if any one can help me or tell me where to go to figer it out that would be alsome sorry about the spelling....

Try uninstalling with unzoone and reinstalling with SZIP2.

After about a year of using my Zune without a case it's pretty much flawless. The benefit of owning a Zune over an iPod is its ruggedness.

Yea that's actually very close to my Zune story had a couple ipods 1st gen nano and 5th gen video. I was even skeptical when the Zunes came out and thought how could anything be better than ipod boy was I wrong. I recently received a 4gb black zune for christmas and am loving it but cant wait to get an 80!

I've only owned one iPod. It was a 5th Gen Video. It had problems from Day 1 and whenever I called Apple they just said that it was normal. After 13 months the battery gave up completely and I went for a Zune 80. I'll never look back.

yea i tell everyone i know who either is looking to buy an mp3 player or has a ipod. i like to rub it in those ipoder's face about all the features

Same here except I have two iPods. I still like iPods, but I agree with almost all of your points. I love iTunes
