Default EXTREME Disappointment With Zune 2.0

Microsoft has definately lost it in too many ways. As a former employee of 12 years, I have always been a fan in the past but have now decided that they have indeed become "the evil empire" that so many have been claiming for years. I waited until the 2.0 release because I have too much experience with the 1.x products to know that they are never any good and have lots of bugs. However, I am now hearing that 1.0 was OK but 2.0 is so totally awful that everyone wants to go back...

With the massive issues that Vista has seen and the Zune fiasco, I am so glad that I have liqudated all of my MS stock for good. I find it really difficult to believe that they just had their biggest quarter ever because their products really suck!

The album art issues really piss me off, but so does the fact that my Zune will sync with my Vista laptop only about 1 out of 6 attempts. Vista does not recognize the device and keeps trying to load a driver for it. Once in a while the Zune software on my PC will recognize it and then sync, but Vista still has a "unrecognized device" error.

Only a portion of my music will sync. I would guess that approximately 2/3's of it will be recognized, but out of these there are songs spread out everywhere even though I have them very organized in their own folders with clean tags and album art embedded in each tag. For many albums the display shows multiple copies of the album with each copy containing 1 or more songs. I have some albums that show one song per album!

The video goes whacky all the time. I eventually have to shut down the Zune application on my PC because the display is so blurry and unreadable that it becomes a big picture of colored blobs.

The software is so incredibly limited that I find it laughable. My 4 year old would look at and wonder why it doesn't work... You can't do anything with it let alone find what you want to listen to.

I used to hate anything Apple. I have rethought that over the past year or so and can now understand how they will only gain market share as Microsoft loses it. As for my Zune, I'll give it one month. If nothing changes that I'll head back to the store and get my $249 back so that I can get a "real" MP3 player that actually works. No excuses Microsoft--you should certainly be able to produce some simple software that works. I just wonder if you ever even bother to test this new release.

Well we actually care for our privacy. We don't want Windows DRM, we want a faster computer to play games, we want compatibility, we want to know our personal info isn't being sent to Microsoft, and lots more.

We won't upgrade. We can stay with XP because of all the support it gets. It goes until 2014 ya know.

he's just a little grumpy over his non-technical abilities, he'd rather have everything handed to him then try and figure out better/easier ways within the already given system. Innovation my friend.

I like Vista for it's looks and organization. I'm trying to install it on my PC right now, but ONLY for Halo 2. It will be dual boot, and first Ill:

- Stop it from sending MS personal info on about 6-10 programs
- Stop superfetch
- Stop prefetch
- Get rid of Windows mail, and other things with Vispa
- Stop remote connections

And a bunch of other BS, so Halo 2 plays fine. I will always be an XP lover, user, and it will be my MAIN OS. Vista for NOTHING except Halo 2.

So don't think this means I like it or anything. Vista fanboys. I can't even get it to install right.

Don't think for a SECOND that I like it.

XP ftw. And don't worry guys, I'm still part of the nonexistent ZuneBoards XP Club

I had no problem installing it and it's been a joy ever since. The few issues that did pop up were quickly dealt with and are no longer.

It seems all microsoft products tend to work well with me. Vista hasn't given me too many problems, my 360 has already lasted longer than most with no signs of slowing down, and my Zune has been great. I guess I'm just one of the lucky ones.

i've never had any problems with microsoft. I mean, nothing's ever been drastic you know? I think that Apple is just something that people want to get into because it's like: "ooh! something new! let's be different and get it!" I love Windows XP.

I've heard a rumor going around the church that all Mac users are destined to burn forever so I'm going to stick with my windows xp just to be safe. Besides, Mac just does shoddy work

I have not had any of the issues at all that this dude is talking about. I couldn't be happier with my Zune 2 or Vista.

Vista is awsome. XP is an old tried and used operating system. The only reason it has so much support of devices is that it has been out for a long time. When XP cam out I don't remeber that many people saying theyll stick with widows 2000 or whatever u used before that cause it was not around for a long time.

GET BACK ON TOPIC!

The Zune ITSELF isn't bad, it's the software that sucks.

But that's why PityonU is making the zAlternator
