I was introduced to the Zune by the wonderful power of the internets. After reading that Microsoft had a music player in the works, I obsessed. When the Zune was finally unveiled, I immediately fell in love with it. I'm a total non-conformist, and whether that attributed to me thinking that the Zune was sexiest in brown, had an elegant UI, and was just the right size is up to you. However, I found myself in quite a conundrum when I realized that the shiny new iPod nano I had bought that October of '06 just couldn't stand up to the Zune. So I asked and begged my parents to buy me one (this was before I became a soccer referee). It was literally every conversation that I brought it up in. Finally, the stars aligned and the great gods that turn the wheels of the universe were looked upon me. The night of my birthday I picked up my Zune, went home, charged it, and went to sleep, letting it sync my music and video collection overnight. I woke up that morning so happy, applying a Desert Eagle as my background, and watched the Halo 3 announcement trailer a few times. I haven't looked back since. I gave my iPod to my 11-year old brother, he barely uses it, and listens to just a select few songs on it, but then again, how the hell can you enjoy yourself with 2 gigs of music.
A few months after the March I bought my Zune, it sits in front of me, in it's $30 leather case that I bought to protect it, syncing wirelessly with my 32-bit operating system across the house. I absolutely love the thing, and will only replace it when it breaks *shudders* All in all, the OS of the Zune is easy to get the hang of, and the tactile feedback is very awesome. The size to me isn't a negative, because it feels manly, unlike that darned iPod nano. I give this product a thumbs up and a perfect alternative to an iPod or a Sansa, believe me, trust Microsoft on this one.
