Default They Stop Promoting It?

My younger brother(hes 10) always has evied my zune. His birthday was today and my friend decided he was more of an apple fan(sorry). He sold me his zune for 100 even(I might add that he had not opened it, was a brand new one). Being the nice brother i am i gave it to him for his b-day.

Heres where the problem came. I dont really like him dling music illegally, bad habit that he doesnt need, so hes gonna use the market place. I told him to use the 14-day free trial yet he did not get one. Did they stop this feature somehow or for some reason. I find it wierd that they would do this for no reason at all.

So what i am asking and i know it might be asking a lot but would anyone have an extra pass code they have no intention of using so he can try out the marketplace and see if he likes it. I know the flames might come or whatever but thought id try for him.

yeah they stopped doing this for a while now.

but the market place isn't expensive... the only problem is that as soon as you stop paying your have to illegally strip the music of it's DRM to keep listening to it.

there have been some new developments but I don't think they're going to change anything with the zune pass, only the individual song downloads.

my mom just got a zune for her birthday, and she received a marketplace trial, so i don't think they've stopped.

Well, you can always burn your/his CD's onto the device. You can upload all of the mp3's that you own onto his device as well. Check with your and/or his friends, to see they if they have any good music that he can download. There are other ways to get music other than by downloading them off the net illegally.

I use the market place & don't think it's expensive either. It's a bummer you can't listen to the music on the Zune after your subscription is up.

I have stripped the DRM from the music but it's a pain. I might just continue with the subscription.

Does the music simply expire in the Zune when the subscription is over?
