OK...

I've scoured the 'net trying to get a FREE way to get my DVDs onto my Zune.

Please, if anyone has discovered a way lemme know.

Oh yeah..

Use imTOO. Simply download the trial version on the imTOO website, then go to www.serials.ws and look for "imTOO platinum" and look for the one with the HIGHEST rating percentage. After that, copy/paste code. When you have completed that you have a fully registered copy of imTOO as if it was bought.

Now, what you want to do is rip it directly to zune. To do this, select .wmv. On your far right corner there will be some options. The video size should be 320/240, bit rate to 1200, aspect: auto.

For audio, it should be in wma, bitrate: 192...leave everything else the same.

REALLY IMPORTANT: After this, click on the first box which will uncheck all the titles. Look for the title that has the longest run time (example: 1:35:02) and right click rip. Also, before ripping, make sure the output directory where the file will be sent will be "my videos".

Now wait an hour or two for it to rip.

Now that you have done this, use zMeta to tag it correctly.

There should be a place to register the product (look in the help menu). There, you'll be given a field to put in the serial key.

Hope that helps...

New to the forum and had question regarding the postings in this thread?? The imToo software works excellent for my Zune...thanks to those who discovered this. My question is this...I passed down my Toshiba Gigabeat to my wife when I purchased my zune. This same imToo software also works through Windows Media player to download my DVD's to my wifes Gigabeat with the exception of one issue. I can't seem to make it show in full screen. The screen isn't much different from my new Zune, but it always downloads (using the above referenced settings from previous user) the video in wide screen format and thus leaves the black space at the top and bottom of her screen. Anyone experienced enough to know if there's a setting on the imToo software that will take care of this? There's not an adjustment on the Gigabeat so it's got to be something with the sizing I'm using. Thansk in advance for the help.

I know imTOO also does iPod and PSP formats. You may try those....

i use ImTOO PSP Video Converter 3 for avi files and whatnot. If i was going to do a movie and couldn't find an AVI version.... I'd probably either convert it with temgence to avi and then re encode it and make it MP4 with ImTOO PSP Video Converter 3.

The issue i have with ImTOO PSP Video Converter 3 is it puts an annoying buzzing sound in the video. Its noticeable if you're looking for it and it drives me nuts.
If someone could try and put this file on their Zune and let me know if they have it also that would be great.

A free way can't be a good way, why not try Aimersoft dvd to zune? no matter from the price or the performance, it can be titled the best one.
