mp4 problem

hey i just got my zune 120 yesterday and im loving it. However after trying to put a movie mp4 format the zune software refuses to detect it. Can anyone help me here? Also is there ANY way to play avi format on the zune from what i understand the zune software encodes the video anyway for play on the player so i really fail to see the reason why i need to recode my avi files to wmv or mp4 and then have to further wait for the zune software to convert it for the zune. Oh yeah off topic but is there any way to use the zune as an external drive?

Make sure it's .mp4 or .wmv, 320*240, and under 30 fps. If it's like that, the zune software won't have to convert it. It won't detect .avi format on the zune software, so you can't use it.

And there used to be a way to use the zune as an external hard drive, but it got locked up by the 3.0 and 3.1 updates

Aww man bummy bout the hd and avi thing. The movie is in mp4 format (not sure bout the size parameters) but the zune software still wont pick it up. I got winavi vid converter which seems to do the trick for some other stuff when i put them to wmv format.

even if it is in .mp4 format, it should be able to pick up, but won't sync most likely. the format muse be in .wmv or .mp4, 320x240 resolution, under 30 fps, and any audio bit you want.

yeah thats the weird thing. It's not detecting the mp4 file at all. Oh well i guess ill have to see if i can just redownload it.

make sure u drag it to the software. that could be the problem
