As stated by Zune.net, the calamity of the decade should end at 4:00AM Pacific Standard Time which was..... one and a quarter hours ago. Mine works now! How about anyone else?

Wasn't that just the craziest thing yesterday? Like mass hysteria. Only worse. All of the Zune 30's in my house are back to normal. Yesterday I thought I was going to go out and buy 4 new 120's for my family. OUCH!

Mine doesn't work
Now, it gets past the loading screen, but it's just blank and after about 5 seconds it cuts off, then when i turn it back on it gets stuck at the loading screen... It's out of warranty, so I've tried unhooking the batter and hooking it back up, letting it just run down and die then charging it, nothing's working... is mine bricked or is there any possible way to fix it?
I'm up and running again. Had it not been for finding this forum last night, my Zune would be in the trash and a new one on order. Whew, what a relief!
i had to do a hard reset mine was doing the same as your brm252, i took the battery out and plugged it back in as soon as it reset i erased everything on it including firmware and reinstalled everything

Not reading the wrong time as much, it was the internal date clock. Mine is working. I found it funny how so many people got worried over something so small....
I'm new here because I need some help and this looks like a good group of people. I'm on my fourth Zune, due to restart problems. I got one of the the original ones as a present (The third one they sent me started rebooting within three minutes of turning it on.) When I connected #4, I was able to turn down the upgrade to 3.1, my personal point of blame for all the problems since I had none before that. That was three weeks ago. Today, it won't recognize the Zune unless I install 3.1. Anyway around that? I don't want to deal with it. If this ones fails, I am reluctantly moving to an iTouch. Devotion becomes stupidity after a certain point.

Sorry to hear about all your problems. If you have software version 3.1 but not the same version zune firmware, thats your problem. Check the internet as there is packaged zune.exe's for 2.5 and 3.0 out there

How do you erase the firmware and reinstall everything, mine only stays on for about 5 seconds and it never shows up on my computer... If there's a way for me to reinstall the firmware and get it working again, I would be sooo happy! How do you do that?
Edit:
Whenever I reset it by taking the battery out for a few seconds and turn it on, it goes to the blank screen... It'll stay on the blank screen until it dies, if i plug it in to the computer, it does nothing, as soon as i start the zune software, it restarts and freezes on the loading screen... does this mean that it's still having a problem with the clock or something?
Zune 30s should be up and running by now.
