Jorvette: It's a Samsung HS082HB, 4200 RPM. The stock 30gig drive is a Toshiba MK3008GAL, 4200 RPM.
I don't know which drive is more efficient, powerwise.
runtohell121: Thanks!
Trogdor: It's actually red, not orange (although I'd like to get my hands on one of the orange ones).
theradiowave: It's great having that much storage space on a first gen Zune. I had run out of room. I also like the fact I still have equalizer presets. That's the main reason I haven't bought a second gen Zune.
ProOne: It's actually pretty easy to do. The hardest part was getting the ribbon cable back into the connector.
Scrapz616: It's kinda weird. When I plug it in, the software says 80GB, but shows a pic of a 30gig right below that. Which DOES make sense, because that's what it is, but still strange to see. I only wish the pic was of a red Zune, but it has always shown up as a white one. I wonder if the orange ones show up as white in the software too...

That's interesting...I was wondering if people with the limited edition Zunes had them showing up in the software... I never saw an orange color for them in the hack images we saw from within the software so that's probably why your orange Zune comes up as a different color in the software - it doesn't have a picture of an orange Zune to show.... very interesting...

It's actually RED, not orange. Wish there was some way to get an image of the red one into the software. Makes me feel like a red-headed stepchild, LOL. Not that it really makes a difference...
