My friend had one, and it was sweet.
I needed a mp3 player, so I sold my old 2gb ipod nano and got a Zune 80.

As I said it another thread I had an ipod classic 80 first, and then I heard more about the zune, and I was like WTH did I do that for and sold the ipod classic and got a zune. All the stuff on zune I love more than the ipod and I cannot even think why ipods are more popular to me anyways. Oh maybe the word of mouth and 5 years head start on zune.

I was badly in need of an upgrade from my old 512mb player and at first I kind of glossed over the Zune because I was one of those who laughed at it when it first came out. But after some searching around I didn't find anything I really liked. Then I came across some positive reviews of the Zune from places like CNET and after giving it a second chance it was just so much more appealing. The Zune pad and big screen are really what won it over for me.

Too many people have ipods, plus they arent all they are put up to be. I looked at reviews for various mp3 players, and I saw the Zune and I thought it looked really cool. Big screen, and the backround can have a picture on it, Zune> Ipod all the way.

needed something with at least 80gb, so it was either the classic or zune80, i chose the zune80 cause of the bigger screen.

The iPod looks like more of a toy to me. When you see a Zune, especially the 80 and 120, you know that person means business. That, the larger screen, the name, the promise for updates to the software (which have come), and the difference from an iPod all made me buy my Zune 80.

To be honest,I don't like Apple. I think all of their products look flimsy and cheap. Even though most people have ipods, most of the ones i know now wish they didn't because Apple nickels and dimes you for every upgrade or update. And they are getting sick of it.

I had a 30 at first but it died over the 2 years I had it, I got one originally as it seemed interesting and I wouldn't want to be another person to have an iPod.

Any number of reasons.
I like how sturdy it feels. I don't feel like I'm going to break it, unlike whenever I checked out a friend's iPod. I like the size of the screen. When I run early to work, it's nice to be able to watch a movie or a TV show, or show friends videos from E3 and be able to see it. I already had the Zune software on my computer to share media to my XBox 360, so I was familiar with it. Points that are attached to my account for Live also work on my Zune account. The 15 bucks a month subscription service, while not allowing you to DL everything in the marketplace, allows me to check out music that I otherwise would have just breezed over. I can put a picture of Serenity on my background, which continues the theme of my cell phone and PSP. T

I tried an iPod Nano (1st gen), and that turned me off of Apple entirely. Sound quality was only so-so IMO, and I just couldn't get used to the click wheel.
I then tried a Zen Vision:W which had a large display, but was just too big and bulky. At this point, I started longing for a Zune, but they weren't available in Canada yet. Everywhere I looked, people were saying the Zune had great sound quality, had an excellent FM tuner (another perk), and was a great player for those who "think different" (in other words, those who don't consider Steve Jobs their hero). Needless to say, when I found out Canada was getting the Zune, I couldn't resist.

My wife had an Ipod that I bought for her before the Zune came out for her birthday...while I liked the concept. I Hated Itunes HATED it. So I got a Zune for my birthday last September (I bought it for myself). She made me sell her Ipod and get HER a Zune also.
I have Never bought mainsteam, Always bought a Sega not a Nintendo, never owned a playstation, bought HD DVD instead of Blue Ray (ok that wasn't the best choice). -Brian Last edited by shadowsip : 10-11-2008 at 09:46 AM. Reason: grammer ![]() |
