Removed the silver ring around touchpad (8gb, Gen2 - pics.)

So when I broke my old Zune and sent it in for them to fix they just sent me a P.O.S in return, and the silver ring was popped up around one side of the pad. After leaving it like this for about 2 months it got annoying to see so I just pulled it off today.

It was surprisingly easy to remove because the only thing holding on the silver ring is a very thin layer of adhesive (probably glue, it was brownish-yellow colored).

The pad still works perfectly, and I think my 8gb looks a lot sexier now that the annoying silver eyesore is off. My zune is murdered out! (sorry about pic quality.)

This is just what it looks like with no pad.

This is the silver ring itself, and i am using one finger to show that it is indeed held on my some sticky crap.

Good glue=win. I've seen glue that will cause steel to warp and sheer before letting go. That's ****ing strong glue.

Hmm, I really like it without the ring. Mine doesn't have a touch pad, it has a button thingy, so mine already doesn't have a silver ring. lol.

Thats the thing, the glue holding the ring down is not good glue. I could have yelled at it for 5 minutes and it would have come off......

i took mine off too. surprised me how easy it was to take off. i just used my finger nail. its a zune 80. heres a few pics.

Meh, I'd never do it if I had an 80; the silver ring is sexay. If it ever fell off, I'd glue it back on with good glue.
