Question Are You Getting This?

There seems to be an issue with the firmware (see video) that is causing some Zunes to freeze and require a reboot. I personally haven't had an issue, but how 'bout you? Let us know if you have this issue often or not... We may need to let the Zune Team know if there's a considerable amount of Zune users affected....be sure to answer the poll**

I've been experiencing this bug as well as another one: yesterday (several times in a row) I wanted to replay a song, so I pressed the left button when there were about two seconds left. However, the Zune continued to the next song instead of repeating. If I can borrow a friend's camera I'll make a video and post it.

I had my Zune freeze on me a few times as well. I had to do a soft reset.

I haven't had my Zune freeze on me since the 1.1 firmware. It's a tank in both body and mind, i.e. hardware and software.

I think it has something to do with the touchpad.
I had mine and a friend's Zune, mine a 4, his a 30.
Mine froze up at the main screen, exiting out of Marketplace.
I couldn't do a soft reset, because the touch/d-pad didn't work!
I just had to let the battery drain...
Meanwhile, that 30 was just truckin along...
Micro$oft really needs to fix this...

i just tried this with my 8 like in the vid and no problems at all it switched withought a hitch. im gonna go ahead and assume it has something to do with gaplessplayback/hdd because i believe with gapless plaback it begins to load the next song in the last 10 or so seconds of the current song and i would imagine you hit play all right when it begins to load the next song so attempting to load/unload one song and load another at the same time probably causes the lockup

Haven't had this issue.

I'll keep tinkering around with it to see if it turns up.

I've had this happen about 4 times.

The last time it just blacked out and will not reboot. The only thing I can think of is a hard reset, but I'll lose a lot of data that way.

If I have to do a hard reset then I'm not ever updating firmware again...

Ive never used my zune that way. Thanks for letting me know not to do that. I do get sometimes only, it will skip to another song. It will also not always save where I left off in a movie. Sometimes I notice the sound is not as loud. Ive only had mine a little less than a month I love it. I hope this bug dont get any worse.

Hmm... I have noticed that my Zune does freeze from time to time requiring a soft reset. However, when I attempted to recreate this particular bug on my Zune, something even more strange happened. I paused a song with just a few seconds left, selected another song to play, un-paused the previous song, then selected the new song. Although my Zune didn't freeze, the counter showed that the song was playing although there was no audio. After 21 seconds, the counter froze and the song began to play. Once the song caught up with the counter, then the counter continued. Weird, eh?
