I remember back in the original Zune30's that they had a Nickname "The Tank" because they could take a 3 meter drop onto solid concrete and survive. This, interestingly enough, was a selling point for me. I hate buying something that breaks very easily. However I have a question...
How durable are the 4/8/16/80/120's? Can they take a 3 meter drop onto concrete? Can they be sat on and still survive? now im not asking you to beat up your Zune's, thats FAR from what Im asking. But whats the wear and tear on them? Along with Survivability?

Definitely plenty durable. Mine still works perfect, even through drops and what not.

Yea but any incredible Drops? Like.. walking in the park and dropped it down and flight of concrete steps? Or in the mud? Their was an experience here, awhile ago about an owner who droped their Zune30 into their bathtub full of water and it still worked. Stuff like that?

It's not as durable as the 30s, but they're still pretty durable. A lot of it's luck.

Yeah, they're still pretty durable, but take much more damage than the 30's, whereas if you dropped your 30, it would still look like new, but if you dropped your 4/8/16/80/120, it would most likely have tons of scratches and probably be chipped(happened to my old 80 when I dropped it ontop of bricks and it wasn't that high of a drop either).

I have dropped my 120 3 times now, one on gravel, one getting off the forklift, one time it feel out of my gym pants onto the car floor. So far so good..I get pissed every time crap like that happens, had a pretty bad streak with the Zune.

My 80 was thrown into a concrete stair case once, bounced down it another time, and I've dropped in from like 0.5-1 metre onto tarmac plenty of times, it still works like a charm (apart from slight detns to the casing on the top left / bottom right, and the case is slightly misaligned now as well!)

My zune 8 is dropped on average two times a day (I am clumsy) and gets covered in greece/oil about one a week (I listen to it in the garage while working), Still works great and only has a little scuff on the bottom right corner.

Nice!
See, these are the stories I like. And for the person who said the Zune30's are ugly. I like mine. Its different then every other MP3 player out their. And not like I Purposly beat on my zune (IM actually very nice to it) Its nice to know if I go down the path of a 120 or 80 it'll be worth it.
