not really a copy.. it seems like they are just using their 2nd gen ipod nano case.. but added a bigger screen on it?

I wouldnt call it copying thats actually taking the design, but Apple just put a more ovular case on it and slapped a bigger screen on it as well.

Without knowing their internal discussions, we can't know if they did this because of the Zune, but we do know a few things:

1. Microsoft did not originate this form.

2. It's basically the shape of the first 2 generations of Nano's, but with the screen elongated.

It's kind of a leap of logic to say they're copying the Zune, to me this is a natural progression for the Nano, from the 1g and 2g, the 3g was just an odd experiment.

Yeah, Microsoft didn't make this design up, Apple just thought, as did Microsoft that it's a good design and they'll sell more with this design.

guys, all mp3 players are going to have a widescreen view and some navigation buttons. How much moving around that design do you expect other companies to do? You might as well complain that cell phones are copying zunes.

If it is real why did they change the shape... they should have kept the smaller squarer (...?) size. The curved shape looks interesting though

the green one is a fake. firs of all the usb plugs are too big. those are like generation 1 or 2 plugs. currently the white box part of the plug is about half as big. secondly, there's that thing that run2hell121 said about the curve of the ipod. ( i wonder if theyre gonna release new ipod headphones?, will they copy zune premiums?)

Apple should haven't ever changed the design of the nano to the fatter one in the first place.

I call photocrop....and bad ones at that....but it's highly likely Apple saw the advantage of this configuration. Whether they're 'copying' Zune or not, we can rest assured Zune got it right before Apple...

Well I have to concede that at least Apple knows how to do colors right. That orange / rust is gorgeous. The new blue Zune on the other hand...

Lol.. yeah, I didn't think that was a particularly attractive shade of blue either. But I would have preferred a richer shade of blue.

Anyway, I'm happy with my black Zune 80
