Is there really a Zune Phone coming out? There's has been so much speculation and controversy about it I'd really just like some truth. I change my cellphone every other month (no joke) so I would definitly get the Zune Phone. Someone please show me some evidence!

I don't think there will be a Zune Phone, I don't think Microsoft wants to copy "Apple" that much.. all of the news you heard and saw was mostly photoshopped zunephone.

By saying that, you are also saying that every other company is copying the first person who created the telephone, so what does it matter?

Being able to manipulate something that otherwise in inanimate is fun i guess. pls it means a bigger screen.

I think the more likely scenario will be to puch a derivitive of the zune software to windows mobile devices. Of all the rumors that havbe been floating around, that's really the only one that has any solid evidence to being true. As much as I hate to say it, I think an actual Zune branded phone is not likely to see the light of day.

Also, get used to touch screens. They're going to be replacing traditional keypads in the next 10-15 years so, I suggest you either embrace them or get it into your head that being a non-adopter will leave you stuck with an antiquated crap-phone.

Until the day comes that a touch screen is cheaper than buttons, buttons will not become obsolete. The iPhone touch screen has got to be crazy expensive, and the software that powers the keyboard on it (where more frequently used keys get "bigger") is probably patented. Keypads and keyboards will be with us for a long time.

No doubt that there are those of us who will hang on to our keyboards, mice and other peripherals until the robot overlords pry them from our cold, dead hands but, trust that touchscreen technology is only getting cheaper and more widely popular by the day. Look and Apple's multi-touch applications, MS's Surface, etc... It's not hard to see that easily within the next two decades, even my mother will be thinking about getting rid of her keyboard.

It's easy to be short-sighted but, keep in mind that technology is doubling at a rate of every 10-12 months right now and that will only get faster. We're not as far away from "Minority Report" type stuff. In fact, the technology already exists in a lab somewhere. And, as soon as it gets to the point of affordability, the face of consumer electronics will change drastically.

Remember, Super Mario Bros. 3 was the pinnacle of gaming 20 years ago. Go play Crysis for a few minutes and then tell me about the limits of technology.

I think Microsoft's official stance is, "that's a good question, that may be something we're looking to do in the future, but have nothing to announce today."

My thoughts are if they don't hurry with 'em the new HTC Touch 3G is looking mighty appealing right about now...
