Default For the love of God...

I hate my Zune now. I mean, it's a cute little rectangle that can do a lot of cool things, but more often than not, it won't.

Why?

Software.

The software is an unholy mess. I spent 5 hours unsuccessfully syncing one flippin' movie to my Zune. Instead I synced up 39849 other things over and over again. I'm talking quadruplicates of Tom Petty's Free Falling and all I wanted was one Kung Fu Panda.

Is this that hard?

Too bad Media Monkey doesn't support syncing videos, or all my troubles would be not.

All you happy Zune campers...What the heck is your secret?

That's awesome. I knew reinstalling Zune software did nothing in terms of resetting the media. At least this will give me a fresh start until I want to update my collection later down the road. Thanks.

Picard Tagger any better than Media Monkeys tagger? Or Amarok, which is great but that's only available on GNOME machines I think...?

Yeah, they are in .mp4 format.

Should be right...right?

dude synching is not rocket science, convert your movie to .wmv, mv4, or .mp4, and put it in your designated movie folder. Go open your zune software, make sure it shows up in your collection, if it doesnt then your file format is not supported.

connect zune, go device>start synch

yes it supports .mp4
but it must be MPEG MP4, not AVC H264 MP4

Oh buddy, I appreciate your willingness to help, even if you're a bit condescending in doing so. However, you fail to realize what my problem actually is.

I'm not upset with the fact that one video is not syncing, it's that every time I connect my Zune, it syncs a bunch of BS automatically. Well, actually no I changed that setting. It's anytime I drag anything to be synced, it does that and more. Not to mention the tags are still effed up, despite the fact that the files themselves are in good standing with what the actually are on my PC. The conversion just screws it up. Perhaps the MS Media reset mumbo jumbo will fix this. I'm guessing it does.

Anyway, the Zune software is just screwed up. That realization isn't rocket science either.

Yes, they are MPEG mp4's.

O.o Wow

I never had a problem with the software. The only problem I had was downloading it but after that it worked really well.

Try messing around with your Sync groups, your movie may be in a group with a lot of of other stuff?? IF you don't want hte other videos on your Zune, delete their Sync groups.

My secret is intelligence.
Just use common sense and problem solving.
You'll figure it out.
