Default The FoxyTunes Thread.

Now here's something that's really been annoying me for a long time now... and judging by my search results, at least a few others. Before I got my Zune I used MediaMonkey, and thus I used FoxyTunes. On daily basis. FoxyTunes doesn't support the Zune software at the moment, and it's incredibly frustrating.

For those that don't know, FoxyTunes (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/219) is a plug-in for Mozilla Firefox which allows you to control your "music experience" from the status bar (the bar down the bottom). From pausing, skipping, adjusting volume, muting.. to viewing album art, inserting "now playing signatures" into pretty much any text field (see below for mine), and looking up lyrics and artist biographies at a click. Not only that, but coupled with another firefox plug-in, FoxyTunes can even be the Zuner's long awaited answer to last.fm scrobbling problems!

Sounds good doesn't it? Well here's your chance to do a little bit to get Zune support for FoxyTunes! All you have to do is fill out a simple form on the FoxyTunes site entitled "Vote for your player". Yes, that's right, VOTE for the Zune Software!

You can fill out as little or as much (the more the better) as you want, as long as you get the point across that you're voting for Zune. Since the Zune software isn't and option in the drop down menu, please select "Other" and type in Zune. The latest version is 2.5 if you're wondering.

This form can be found here:
FoxyTunes - Vote for your Media Player

Please help out your fellow zuners!!!

thanks.

Really really sorry about the double post! my internets went out when I hit post, so as soon as I got it working again, it gave me 2 posts.

Nope, it's one of the categories you can vote for. Lemme try to explain this, I don't really use it much, so bear with me. It's an add-on for Mozilla Firefox that allows you to play music right from your browser without opening up other applications. It sits on the bottom of the page, (at least mine does) right above the taskbar. People are voting for a media player i.e. Zune media player, itunes, mediamonkey, to be supported by foxytunes. This way your music from those players can be played through Mozilla's foxytunes. Hope I helped!

That's not quite true. People are voting for their favourite media players regardless of weather or not FoxyTunes supports them. Most of that drop down list is currently supported (including iTunes, and therefore, the ipod). It's meant to be to:
"Help your fellow music lovers choose the best media player and me to provide better support for the most popular players by filling the form below."

Therefore if we get enough votes for the Zune software, we will most likely see support for it in a future release of FoxyTunes.

Please keep voting, even if you don't think you'd really use it all that much. You'd be helping out a lot of Zune users.
