New to zune.

Hi, I'm Strokes and I'm obviously new here. i kinda always admired the zune and wanted to get one, but did not because of no income. Now that I finally got a job (I'm only 16) I have $ and want to get a zune. I used to have a 4 GB ipod mini that i got for like $15 from a friend and had it for 3 years and it finally died (battery and hard drive went @ the same time.) I plan on getting a 80 GB zune. Is there anything I should know before I purchase one? And what would the best store be to buy one at in terms of price and warranty?

It comes with a 1yr Warranty I got mine at Walmart.

If you want to put games on it XNA doesn't support Vista yet, so u will need a XP OS to but them on ur Zune.

well u can buy it at best buy for 2 year warranty, but the warranty isnt free. you have to pay $20 for it

thx for the vista heads up. I have vista ultimate, but it still isnt that great with only 1 GB of RAM. (Need more RAM before i get a zune!)

why the hell are you running vista on one gig of ram?

but in regards to the zune, I have never even held an 80, but the 30 is a tank. so. you shouldn't worry about a warranty. if it's anything like it's older brother, the 30, it'll never damn break.

Warrantys on PMPs are scams period. There are a few reasons
#1 the manufacturer warranty usually covers the first year, the extended warranties do nothing extra in most cases than the manufacturer warranty. In otherwords they don't cover accidents.

#2 By the time anything goes wrong with the device you usually are on a new generation for that model in which case it is just a good time to update your old one.

I bought a 2 yr warranty for my classic 80GB six months ago and I'm already on a different primary player [MY ZUNE 120! YAY!].

Zunes practiclly cant break trust me im 12 ive dropped it out of a car goin 50 its been hit by a frozen paint pall goin 800FPS (oh shiit that save my ballz) it wont break (well this all happened with my 30gb im waitin for my 80gb to arrive in mail) but XNA DOES work on vista i kno i have it :P
