Hi! I was just wondering, I have a questionn.. Im getting a Red 4GB Zune for my birthday tommorow. My brother has a zune too. I was just wondering if these little things are true.


Can you send messages to zune to zune? I heard you could.. I ALSO heard you could send messages from zune to people on xbox live. (360). I think thats a complete rumour tho

My brother has a zune and he doesnt have the games option.. Yes, he does have the older version.

Would the one im getting have the 'games' option? Nice to meet you all :O!

Well, you can't send messages from zune to zune or from xbox to zune. The exception is though, is zune messenger or zune IM. If you and your brother update the firmware to 2.5 and add the game option, you can download either of the applications and "text" eachother if your within range. But make sure your bro knows that no matter what zune he has, he can update the firmware to the same as you! All zunes can update to software 2.5, nomatter if it's 30 gig or zune 2. Also, the one your getting Won't. Once you recieve it, update your firmware by checking for updates, then if youw ant follow one of the multiple tutorials here on adding games.

I have no idea. I can tell you he bought it over 4 months ago o_o. All he does is listen to music on it xD. Shuld i tell him theres new firmware out he should dl?


Orrr to put it simply, I dont 'think' he has updated the firmware since he bought it, its an older release and i asked him just tonight if he had the games option, hes reply 'no'.

If it's a 30 gig... he may have a MAJOR software/firmware update htat he doens't know about... tell him to go onto the software and click "check for updates" if he's using the 30 gig firmware, it'l update him with the zune 2 firmware, and a few new features. Also, as far as games are concerned, they haven't actually been released yet so no firmware upgrade you'd find normally will add the function, you have to download a bunch of other software to do the update for you.

The games arent an included part of the Zune Firmware, you use another program to put a game on your Zune and then the games option will appear in the menu just check out the tutorials

You can talk Zune to Zune by using ZIM (downloadable from the this site in the Zune games section).

You cannot talk Zune to Xbox360

All Zunes can do games, you just need to update firmware, install Visual C# express, then install XNA 3.0 Beta. Then you can download games and install them
