Quite frankly, the Ipod touch was the biggest piece of **** that has ever graced this earth. How people manage to use this technology and actually have the nerve to recommend it to anyone is beyond me.
I didn't even pay for the Itouch. My dad gave it to me for free as a present from a coworker. I wish I could go back in time and pay that coworker not to give that present. I could ramble for a page on why the Ipod touch should be renamed ijunk but I would prefer not to lol. bottom line is should I get a Zune 80? I knew not to get the first zune because i knew the second version would kill it. by all the reviews, it looks like I have been confirmed. what i am looking for is to put movies, youtube videos, and listen to music wihtout having to touch teh ****ing screen over and over. will the microsoft zune offer me these features and is transferring the itunes library to whatever library supported by the zune difficult? and please guys anyone who has owned an ipod which is pretty much the entire USA... which one has better sound quality? please don't be a fanboy lol offer backup. i have sennheiser HD 485 headphones so I really notice sound differences. THANKS FOR ALL THE TIME!!!!!! |

Well it depends on how big your iTunes library is. I hadn't bought a ton of stuff through the iTunes store so I just burned it onto CD and ripped it back onto my computer as DRM free mp3s. It didn't take too long to do the 20 CDs I had of iTunes store music. I sure there is an app for it somewhere... but I was too lazy to look.
I've ripped DVDs to play on my Zune 80 and my wife's iPod Classic using a program called Magic DVD Ripper (I think). The Demo lets you do five or so movies so you can test it out before you buy. It was real easy to use and had a profile just for the Zune. For me the quality is acceptable, but not amazing. It works great for getting a ton of movies on your Zune. I've also tried to get stuff off of youtube, but the program I used was a little iffy in quality so I haven't really bothered with it since. It also doesn't help that there's not a ton of stuff on youtube that I want. I've used an iPod Shuffle, a Sansa Express, and an iPod Classic. The Zune obviously blows the Shuffle and Express away and is a pretty solid contender versus the iPod Classic. Between the Zune 80 and Classic its all a matter of taste. I liked the bigger screen of the Zune and I'm not a fan of the click wheel on the iPod so I went with Zune and I'm loving it. Your mileage my vary. Oh and wireless syncing is pretty cool.

You will never need to touch the screen of a zune silly boy! All you need is the touchable zune pad on it and YOU'RE OFF!!
The music thing, is easy, when you install the software it asks you if you want to manually set folders or if you wanna go straight to your library And when choosing folders, you can choose folders for different things, like specific folders for only videos and folders for only pictures and folders for only music, podcasts, etc! I still own an ipod touch, Ive never had a regular ipod and after the touch, i never will Zune has better sound quality and thats only if you have god headphones which you do.

Well, zune definitely seems like it would work for everything you need. The screen is a very nice size, and your not always touching it, so it's great for video's. 80 gig is quite enough memory for all the music/video's/youtube video's you could want, the touchpad is amazing, and you can sync all the unprotected music from your itunes library very easily. Lastly, sound quality is just fine.

The Zune and the iTouch really aren't in the same league though.
Or that's what Apple tries to feed you.

if you want to use ipod touch for web, then keep it, if you want more storage, get a zune 80gb.
