my switch to the dark side

so I have an iPod touch. I'm starting to regret it. I traded my zune 30 in for it, and now I'm thinking I made a huge mistake by switching it. I think I should have gotten a zune 80. What sucks even more is that my friends just getting zune. So yeah...

I hate iPods. Everything about them. The feel like the incredible fail of a Macintosh in your hands. And their scroll wheel is about as useful as a Mac Mouse. It's all around fail.

You could always return it to Walmart for a walmart gift card, and then buy a Zune .

The touch doesn't have a scrooll wheel


I like the idea of the iPod touch as an Internet device because of the great browser it has and all the apps you can put in it.

But as an mp3 player i still prefer my Zune80. Specially since there's not enough space on an iPod touch for my Music colection

my ideal touch device:
1. Made by a competent company(IE not apple, possibly MS, Toshiba, or Sony)
2. crystal sapphire screen coating (scratches = bad)
3. open app availability(like a jailbroke touch)
4. at least 64gb ssd
5. good UI (I want to see what MS would do. the zune UI is SWEET)

Wow are you serious, it can take that much damage. I would love a touch device that used a screen like that.

Yeah, that sucks, that 30 would've been a lot of fun with other zuners(Wifi sharing and wifi games.) You could do what gregory suggested.

What I also recomend, is maybe keep the touch for the internet, but also buy an 80gig zune as your mp3 player! This would allow for you to be happy both ways!

dont make fun of apple. Mkay? The only reason i got the touch was because i needed a pda replacement. And the fact i have a mac. I might get a zune again, but after my experoence with the zune 30 and the using it before the 2.0 update, I hated it. I have to admit that 2.0's ui was very well done. It was simple and easy to use.

In my opinion. It would be considered... unwise to call apple a good company on a Microsoft product forum website.

Even being a die hard apple hater I have to admit the touch is really cool though. I was really tempted to buy one. If it wasn't so expensive I might have. Although I think the small hard drive is what really stopped me.

I have a really big weakness for touch devices. Almost bought a DS for the same reason, and I've never played console games.

I think the iPod Touch is a great device, the interface is a joy to use, great looking and simple, the visual quality of the screen is excellent. It is too locked down, but that can easily be fixed by jailbreaking it. Once you jailbreak it, I think the price actually is worth it for the capabilities, of course I'd always like it cheaper. If the Touch had a SDHC, or even MicroSDHC slot, which Apple will never do, because it would mess with the planned obsolescence, and had better sound quality, I'd sell my Zune and get one. If you aren't using higher end earphones, it has enough space for you, and you jailbreak it to take full advantage, I think it's a great thing to have.

I was thinking about getting an iPod Touch right before I got my Zune. What really swayed my decision was that with the iPod I'd be paying the same amount for less than half the storage space. Now I'm glad the iPod was so expensive because I love my Zune like crazy.

And don't forget about having to pay Apple for the new updates. Microsofts are free. You will always be spending more money for your itouch, then when the new one comes out, you'll have to buy that for new features. So guess how much you'll end up sending to Apple just to keep it up to date.

The thing about the ipod touch, is that it really...really can't take much punishment. I've had not one, but two iPod touches; one had a number of dead pixels out of the box, and the second had a failure in the screen meaning it wasn't half as responsive as it should have been - seeing a trend here?

Funny thing is, I didn't have much fun playing with the iPhone either.
