I am in Canada and ordered a Zune Original when the Zunes were first released. Due to some kind of technical problem I have still not received my Zune. I recently received an email from Zune Originals explaining about the problem and apologizing for the delay. As a gift for the inconvenience I also received a code for a one month Zune pass subscription, which I thought was a bit odd.
I was wondering if anyone has heard anything about when the market place will be released (beyond sometime in 2008). Or if anyone has any idea why they would give a Canadian a Zune pass subscription when it's not supposed to be avalable in the country. |

I don't know, maybe their hinting at some thing. What I do know is that they are bring the Zune pass and the marketplace to Canada before the end of the year. I called them because my 30 gig just died( which their replacing for free=)!) and I asked because I also live in Canada and I really want the pass. He said that's what the Zune team have been working for some time now. (because we have some different music laws here) but he said it's on it's way. So that's a good thing.

I'm surprized that they would replace a 30 gig in Canada. That's pretty sweet. I told my boyfriend he should see about getting his replaced when it broke, but he decided he would just buy an 80 instead (it died the day before the Canadian launch I think he didn't want to go without it).
If I don't get an email with the shipping information on my Zune in the next week I'm going to send an email or call and ask about the marketplace while I'm at it. It doesn't seem wise to give a subscription if they aren't going to release it pretty soon. Good to hear it will at least be within the year |
