Default Does the 2nd gen 80 gig player support limewire downloads?

i am getting ready to purchase a 2nd gen 80 gig zune, and most likely will, but i first MUST know if they support downloaded music from limewire. furthermore, if limewire is supported on the player, can you get the songs you downloaded into the zune marketplace in any way like in Itunes, or will you have to use another method to get the limewire music onto the player. please dont get to technical, as i dont know very much about this kind of thing, just simple yes or no's will be appreciated. on another note, what is the format for videos or movies that takes up the LEAST amount of space, and how can i convert videos or movies to this format? thanks in advance for any help!

I don't see why it wouldn't take music downloaded from Limewire, it's not like Limewire has a special format. And videos to be on the Zune have to be WMV only, I'm pretty sure at least, that's how it is for the 30 gig anyways.

mostly, and if it wont it's just because of the file type, which you can fix if you get a converter. there's like a million of them floating around the forum

Yes you can put songs from limewire on your 2nd Generation Zune. . .BUT I WOULDNT. The government is cracking down a HUGE amount on Limewire and its users. A new law has been passed and if you are caught using limewire you will be fined $1000 per song. 6 people I know have already been caught and have to pay over $40,000 (which is a low amount due to I know people with thousands of songs on their limewire). Unless you can hide your IP or constantly change it dont do it. Programs that will block limewire and its users from seeing into your computer will not work if the governmetn gets into it. . .

Thumbs up

Screw Limewire (Full of BUG'S) . If you are smart enough you would use Ares Ultra.

Some songs from iTunes will work. They must be DRM-free. You'll know this because the song will have a plus sign beside it such as this: . If that logo cannot be seen then you will need to buy the song, burn it to a CD, and re-rip it to get it to play on the Zune. Or, you'll need a software alternative. I can't give you any, though. No video content from the iTunes Music Store will work other than podcasts. The Zune will play .MP4 files, though, which is the format iTunes' videos are in. They are encrypted, which is the only thing stopping you.

As long as it's unprotected AAC, WMA, or MP3, yeah, the Zune will play the songs. Limewire has nothing to do with the format of the music.

I have to agree with this. People just don't get how bad using Limewire is getting these days.

what about MP3 Rocket? i use that instead and it's almost a exact copy of Limewire, but not much people know about it.

Anyways Limewire WILL work and u just drag the music into the software then sync it.

If u want to organize your music, right click it and click "Edit" or if it's already right click "Find Album Info"

If u do that then all your music will be organized even if it's from a different source.

MP3 Rocket uses the same network as Limewire.

im pretty sure "play for sure" wma file do not play on the zune, but i may be wrong...

and if you guys want free music, try spiralfrog.com you dont have the largest seletion, but it is website based, so all you need to download is a small download manager, and ITS LEGAL(no joke) then once you downloaded them all you need to do is use tunebite(or any other brm removal software) to take off the drm's!

I believe using tunebite violates the DMCA, so, technically, that's illegal in the US. Just use torrents. It's easier and probably has a much better selection.

No, if you were smart, you'd buy all of your music legally, the way it was meant to be.
