Default Zune Originals

Hey, I'm located in Canada, and have been thinking of getting one of the designs off of Zune Originals. I just had a couple of questions about it first. If you buy off of the Originals site, do you still get a warranty? If my Zune was to break down, would I be able to return it? I'm guessing that it would take a bit longer than if I was buying at a retailer, but I'd hate to have to wait weeks to get it back like a 360. Thanks.

Yes, you still have a warranty. No, you couldn't return it.

Well, zune originals are nice, but I warn you. They seem to have quality control issues over there, and it's a bit tough to get a working one(at least from me and my friends experiences). I myself have received a broken zune from them, and the replacement I received from them broke in a few weeks. There is the usual 1 year warranty though, so you can keep replacing as much as you want. The actual process takes 3-5 days to recieve the repair box. You send it back, then 10-15 days once they recieve it, and 3-5 to get it back after that. So, it's a bit of an annoying process. I really don't want to encourage you not to buy one from em, just be ready to possibly have to wait a few weeks to get a nice working one.

Heres a recent article from the site I write at.

It sounds similar to my 360, then. I'll probably just go with one bought in store, as I don't want to have to wait.

It doesn't take long for your Originals to arrive. I ordered it on a Saturday and it arrived on the following Thursday. Just because one person had a bad experience doesn't mean you will too. I got one in February and haven't had a single problem. Don't keep yourself from getting a custom engraved Zune, they turn out great.

JawaKing: Did you get yours in the states? I'm finding it's taking a long time for mine to arrive. I ordered on June 12 soon as the Zune Originals website became avalable in Canada and I'm still waiting for the email with my shipping information, it's supposed to arrive today at the latest, but I suspect it's not comming today...

Kennocha...did you finally receive yours? I am thinking of ordering one for my son but don't want to if it is going to be a major hassle.

I'm in Canada too...did you get hit with any brokerage fees/sales tax when it was delivered?

The only issue with Originals is that if you have an issue with your Zune and need a replacement they have to completly redo the custom engraving and sometimes they take awhile. Other then that they seem pretty good.
