Do you need internet to own a Zune?

A friend of mine wants to buy an 8 gb Zune but he does not have internet, I thought everyone had the internet

, does he need the internet or could we put the program on a stick and load it onto his computer?

No, actually the full software is available for download basically any website, just search on google. On my regular computer we dont have internet and thats what we did, but i do have internet on my other computer!

When I download the software and try to install it I get the message

"Zune software installation can't continue until you've installed one or more required updates"

Then it tells me to go here ://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=101231

maybe I should just bring his computer to my house and hook it up to the internet and install the program.

I am having an issue with not being able to download the start up software. Any tips on where I can get it e-mailed to me would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

You WILL need to the internet to install, unless you use the method here:
