Default BestBuy Canada likes Zunes!

So I went out today to buy my brand new Zune red 80, for the Canadian Zune launch. So I get their and every where in the parking lot are Zune signs promoting the Zune.(wow) When I got in the store the whole mp3 player section was covered with signs that had the Zune sign on it. But the greatest part about my journey was the Zunes were sitting right beside the iPods, That's right IPODS!. But wait it gets better, they took half the iPod side to make room for the Zune. The iPods were on this tiny little display and the Zunes had half on each side of the display. It was so cool because the Zunes were actually in charge docks, and ther were tons of people looking at them, touching them and talking about this thing that is so much cooler then a iPod. In the bottom of the cabinets they had a glass door that had the Zunes in them. I got the second last red 80, and all the others Zunes had like 3 to 4 left. The guy who opened the glass asked what was the big deal with these things. When I got inline, I noticed four other people had Zunes in there hands. I must all those party's promoting it, it really paid off. Their was even this one mom who bought a pink Zune for her daughter and tons of accessories with it. My day was went real well after that. Zunes are going to do so well in Canada.

Welcome Zune!

A local Wal-Mart had them in the same display case as their iPods as well (though they weren't in charging docks so all I could do was to look at them).

I can't really vouch for how much demand they had for the Zunes, since I went at midnight Saturday.

the difference between the zune in the states and up here is huge.
I work in the portable electronics section at a Best Buy just north of hamilton, and almost half my sales each day are zunes, once people get over the name:P

I end up "converting" alot of people who come in looking for ipod classics, its cheaper (including accessories), it has more features, and pretty much anything with the zune name is made much better than the ipod equivalent, and sells for about 10-20 bucks less.

if it keeps up, these things are gonna fly out the doors. How come they messed up so bad in the states...?

Futureshop is also making a big splash about them. So much advertising.

I bought my red Zune 80 at Best Buy! And the display and pretty much everything else you described is the same for the location I went to.
I went to Future Shop also, and they were sold out in the black color.
Exciting, huh? =D

Ya no problem, I'll do every thing I can to update you guys on more news. I sort of forgot to mention about Futurshop, it's almost the same deal except that theirs TONS more advertising, but inside the store their the same and Best Buy.

ps. I'm SO happy with my red 80 it's one of the best mp3 player I have ever put my hands on to.

So far, I'm going to have to agree with you here. True gapless playback, excellent sound-quality (despite the lack of an equalizer), a good FM tuner (FINALLY!), and a slick user interface make me one happy Zune user.

Hmmm, it's good to hear! I went to the Future Shop in downtown Edmonton on release day to get my black 80gb Zune. The guy told me it was the first Zune sale of the day, at this was at 12:30pm. Maybe it was just HIS first Zune sale. One problem with the display, at least early on release day...every Zune on display was awaiting the initial setup, so you couldn't actually do anything but look at the menu. Hopefully they've corrected that!

Glad to hear it because once there are more Zunes on the street. Companies will start putting more accessories out for it

I wouldn't be surprised if more people are thinking the way I did when I bought my Zune. I wanted an 80GB+ player, and the only other one that wasn't an iPod was the Archos. If you've seen the Archos however, you'd know that it's a big & bulky player -- not something you could toss in your pants pocket.

The Zune is the first high-capacity player that actually has the form factor of the iPod Classic (though a bit thicker). Of course, it also has the Zune Pad which is the closest we'll ever get to a Click Wheel (due to Apple patents).

I wish the best buy around here was like the one in canada. Half of the employees at the one i go to just stare at you stupid when you ask where the zunes are.
