Default Hurray Apple!

Alright, I haven't been on Zb for awhile, and I won't be for a good while if ever. I used to love my zune. I washed it, shined it, even convinced a few of my friends to buy one, and everything was awesome. Yet, zune rocked, but windows didn't. My PC died and I needed an alternative. I really didn't want to deal with windows vista but I desperately wanted to upgrade from windows xp so I bought myself a mac mini. Guess what. Zune don't work with OS X. Yeah, very unfortunate.

So here I am, my brother and I each have a zune and I have the car kit but neither of us can update the music on them. If somebody wants to buy a brown zune 30 so I can buy myself an iPod, send me an email, otherwise I'm afraid my brownie may see eBay before too long.

I'm sorry zune, if you weren't married to windows we'd still be friends.

btw. I think OS X is way better than XP in pretty much every way. Too bad there's no zune support.

Is it the software that doesn't work with Macs, or the device? Just because XP (and moreso with Vista) integrates 50,000+ drivers into their OS does not mean Apple does the same...unfortunately.

But if it is the software, then you're right, MS should make a Mac copy. That way those 4-6% with Windows-less Macs could use their Zunes.

Sidenote: I wonder what the percentage is of people with Mac computers and Zunes?

People are entitled to their own opinions. Good luck on selling your Zune and buying and iPod and hopefully it will give you the same satisfaction.

why would microsoft make software for something that has 5% marketshare on the OS? if apple stopped making itunes for windows, ipod would crash in burn in a matter of weeks.

. Yeah. The iPod was Apple-exclusive when it first debuted, but that was changed relatively quickly. The Zune doesn't need to function on an Apple OS or system to become popular, which may be why we have yet to see it on anything other than Windows.

Its actually quite simple. You need to download/buy VMware, then install windows onto your mac mini by inserting the XP disc into the mini. Once you are done with that, download your zune software. You can drag the Zune Icon onto your Mac desktop, and when you click on it, VMware will pop up in a window, and you can sync your zune, etc. etc. etc. Also you can run any other windows program this way. When I got my first Mac, I was able to do this in around 1 hour 30 minutes.

I'm sorry, but I don't really think there is enough interest in making the Zune compatible with Macs to warrant it happening, especially since the Zune team is, hopefully, busy with improving the software and the overall Zune experience, i.e. making it less frustrating. Just use VMware or Parallels or something.

Just use bootcamp(free from apple) to dualboot with XP. Install the Zune Software from there.

Why would you buy a Mac if you have a Zune, without looking into compatibility first? I mean, didn't anything every cross through your mind that because they're from two different companies, they might not work together...? >_>

WHOA WHOA WHOA, here is where you made your first mistake MAC does NOT equal upgrade!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Go back back to vista before steve jobs kills your inner child. QOUTE "If somebody wants to buy a brown zune 30 so I can buy myself an iPod," that is a bad idea, Just reinstal windows XP and return your "upgrade" and get an Upgrade that is actually better than what you had before, btw mac is terrible and you shouldve known that the zune wouldnt work on a mac, Thats what apple calls microsoft compatability

I agree completely.
Or just get a mac and put Vista on it?
All in all this is not a good idea.
As a matter of fact,

Made that myself not 1 minute ago.
