You know this has troubled me alot recently. The zune 30 did not get redesigned with all other zunes. I learn later that zune 30 will not be going to canada for the release. Could these be the syptoms of a slow loss of the zune 30 in the zune family? but what could also be happening is that the zune 30 will be the zunetouch in which case it will not be lost but will be redesigned at a later mark. I do some research on the topic and find out zune 30 is losing momentum and the zune 80 is starting to be primary bought zune. zune 30 is not availible at target or much other places. your best bet at getting one is online.
![]() I believe i am getting zuneremodelaphobia (zune-remodel-a-phobia) is this the end of zune 30?![]() ![]()

zune 30 will not be redesign, it was the first gen zune which no one actually wanted to buy.. and all the hard disk mp3 players are at least 80gb now.. so microsoft didn't redesign it to make a 2nd gen Zune. like Apple, they have 80gb and 160gb only.. no mp3 player are using 30gb mainly. of course zune 30 won't be heading to Canada since its the first gen, only the 2nd gen is going to Canada.

Hey, free is free. I am glad i got a 30 GB, i personally like the unique look, sure, it looks like a small brick, but it is really durable. I am waiting on my nice crystal case to come in and make it even BIGGER of a brick! but FREE IS FREE! THe zune 30 is just as good as the 2nd gen, especially because the firmware is the same and the screen is a teeny bit smaller, so what?

It happens. Old models get pushed out by newer ones.

it won't matter when they are able to put out the 2nd gen 80 gig for the same price as a 30 gig.. then your getting a deal.. but with technology advances its always going to happen..

The first gen Zune was very rough around the edges, and definitely looked like a small brick. As technology advances Microsoft is able to shrink the form factor, add larger drives for chaper, and add other features. In my opinion, flash drives should be Microsoft's concentration. They are much quicker, more durable, and smaller. The 4/8 both have flash drives, and so does the 32gb iPod Touch. I imagine future Zunes will come in either giant (100+gb) micro-drives or moderate sized flash.
Either way, it is unfortunate when a good product gets phased out, but most of the time the company knows enough not to mess with a good thing. Ideally the next versions would have many advantages, as the current gen Zunes do. This is why more people are buying Zunes now than ever before. |
