Nobody seems to be mentioning one of the major differences. The iTouch has 36 gb of FLASH storage versus 80 gb hard drive. For exercise or other movement, flash media is always preferred, as there are no moving parts. Solid state memory is much more versatile, and holds up better. Plus, the device can be smaller, as the drive will take up less room. However, flash is still more expensive, which accounts for some of the iTouch's large price tag. But since price is not an issue, I'd say the advantage in this debate goes to the iPod.

I agree with the person that said you have to think about how you'll be controlling the device. Since it is a touch-screen, you will not be able to "feel your way" around the controls. This would bug me quite a bit, as I mostly do not look at my player when it's in use. The Zune wins this feature by a large margin.

I'd say the iTouch would make sense if you watch a lot of video. Otherwise, to get the full benefit of the very beautiful interface, you'd have to have it out of your pocket while using it. For just listening to music, I doubt that would be the case.

yeah on some weekends a take an hr trip out of town so the touch will be good. and i like how thin it is. i'll try it out and see if i like it.

apple has never called it the iTouch.......its the iPod touch

Meh. A lot of people on Zuneboards have been asking for the same thing. Portable Internet on their Zune. And they want it all with just the Zune pad.
